I tried a card that works fine on a DX220, it's not the card. I hope you can fix it, because the M5S is probably the best sounding DAP I have tried (I have Fiio X7 mkii, Hiby R6 and Sony NWZ-X2)

Well, I wasn't asking about the card, it was more about the files. If there was some problem with some files or formatting, it could show similar problem even when you had lower amount of files there.

Will assume it's simply problem of amount of files. That was reported and awaiting fix.

@Shanling , I have got an error on shuffle a playlist . After playing randomly songs on a play list (shuffle play), then turn off the device. The device can not resume the song when turning on. Would you please check? It seems to be no problem if I play the song in a playlist sequently.

Tried it and seems it's working fine for me.

Are you talking about internal or external playlists? Which resume function you have set up?

@Shanling I have tried:

- Open one playlist, "list play" some songs then turn off the M5s. Turn on again, M5s resumes the current song.

- Open the same playlist, " shuffle list" play some songs then turn off. Turn on again, M5s can not resume current song!

Would you please check with your M5s. Thanks

I shuffle play all songs of one playlist ( songs on sd card). After turning off the device then turn on again, the M5s doesn't resume the current song. Instead, it display "life is short, play more"!

Can you please give us little bit more details? Are you playing playlist created in system or is it your own external playlist? How many songs is in playlist? And which resume function you have set up?

1- I created my own play list which contains 97 songs. ( on the sd card inserted inside the M5s of course). Do you call it "internal playlist" ???
2- If you turn off the device, then turn on, the device will play the current song by default. In my case, it does not. M5s goes to the main menu with the logo shanling album art "life is short play more". I have to find the song to play again. Am I clear ?

You can create playlist within our system, that's what I'm calling internal playlist. From your message I assume you have your own created m3u file and that's what you are talking about?
In Playback setting, there is item "Resume mode", where you can switch between Off/Track(beginning of song)/Location (Exact second when you finished playback).

Nope! Playlist is created within M5s by M5s, no external files or whatever.
Resume mode: "on track"

Thank you, with this additional info I managed to recreate your problem. Reported it to software team.

@PinkyPowers , I was totaly convinced by your M5s review :" Possibly the best bang for your buck headphone in existence is the Meze 99 Classics ($309, Review HERE), with its gorgeous voicing, rich bass, and crystalline clarity. Shanling’s M5s does nothing to hinder the transparency, but really fattens up those mids, increasing warmth and acoustic resonances. Yes, these two pair together so well, I can’t imagine a more satisfying system for under $800..."

So, besides the awesome iSine 10, I just have bought another headphone, the Meze 99 Classics! This Meze 99 Classics just sounds fantastic with Shanling M5s via balanced port! By the way do you apply EQ on the M5s?
