Which micro SD cards are recommended? I suppose lexar 1000x series is total overkill. But why the 256 gb limit? Suppose I had a 2tb micro SD couldn't this dap support it?

Im not feeling the official case at all, i think its the broken lines.

Does the UI have sorting by album artist or artist only?

How come that not a single DAP maker understands that this is a much more useful option than artist only.
Oh wait, heard the new small Pioneer does album artist sorting.

What do you mean "Album Artist"?
All three of my budget DAPs (Shanling M1, M2s, & Cayin N3) can display all the Albums (in alphabetical order), or all the Artists (in alphabetical order).
If you select an Album, they display the track names of that album.
If you select an Artist, they display all the albums that artist has tracks on. Then you can select an album, to see the track names.
I believe the apps on my Android based DP-X1 have more detailed options.

Hi, new member here.
I've been reading this thread and have ordered the m2s as I like it's features.
Anyone have tried loading SACD-ISO and DSD files yet? I'm kinda new to this feature so I tried to get dsd64, 128 and 256.
I got some sacd-iso and .dsf files from my friend and I'm having a hard time playing it.
The album art and file info is loading in the background but up front it's saying file not supported.
Do I need to modify some settings on the player first?

Did you finally end up comparing the N3 and the M2s re: UI, ease of use, sound etc. I could just find the unboxing and UI overview vid.

It's not Hiby GUI.
Hierarchal sorting. Let's you sort by the main artist even if there are songs on an album with guest artist. Like Flaming Lips vs Flaming Lips + Miley Cyrus. Sucks when that one song on an album with guest artist gets sorted in DB as a different Artist.
I think your DSD file is coded by DTS, Which is not supported.Please try converting the format.

AFAIK M2s has a Linux-based system.
So his firmware is like a 'matrioshka' doll - update.upt -> SYSTEM.UBI -> Themes.
I think that Shanling will have to work hard on a utility that can work with themes.
