@Shanling
I think you said earlier that you are considering to implement filters for the DAC chip?
When reviewing the DAP, I felt it had a relatively warm and organic sound signature.
On some tracks, this sounded fantastic. On others, I think a more neutral, transparent and reference-style sound signature would sound better.
I wonder if there is any way you could offer the ability to also have this kind of sound signature too?
I mean using the filters, or any other firmware update method?

I think it would greatly broaden the appeal (and market) for your M2s DAP, and make a good DAP even better :D

Good afternoon, I'm a new forum member. I have a question for the Shanling representative. In the specification for Shanling M2s, in the first post, the DTS format is specified. A member of Shanling writes that DTS does not support, where is the truth?

In fact, some wav files coded by DTS are supported. But the files with XXX.DTS are not supported. Is that clear?

This is great news, thanks!

I would add that on the Aune M1s which I also reviewed, the differences between filters were barely noticeable.
I hope you can make the differences quite strong if possible?
Humble request~ ^-^

Yep,I think the differences would be strong. As we have added the filter function in M2 and M5,and it really make a difference.

Wonderful~
I might actually have to buy one now! :D

Are there any owners of the M2 or M5 who can discuss about the differences between the filters (and what filters there are)?

and @Shanling , will you be doing the filters exactly as you did on the M2 and M5? Or any planned differences this time round? :)

First off, my assumption is that the DAC filters are something provided at the DAC-level by the manufacturer. As such, Shanling probably didn't have control over "strength" of the filters. Is that a fair assumption @Shanling?

Secondly, I've never found any of these DAC-level filters to be particularly strong. In my experience, they're pretty subtle. Depending on your age, hearing loss level, and gear, you might not detect a difference at all. Personally, I wouldn't make a purchasing decision on whether or not a DAP has DAC-level filters enabled or not. They're a "fine-tuning" kinda thing.

Indeed, that's been my experience too thus far, so I was surprised and a bit excited when our lovely Shanling rep said they would make a strong difference! Well, I'll wait to hear feedback if and when it's implemented. Let's see.

Shhh... Between you and me, I've got Shanling M2 and M5 and I don't find the filters to be anything other than subtle. Don't tell our friend @Shanling, though

The filters are subtle, but I do notice more of a difference with them on the n3 than the fiio x5iii. Maybe this is because the x5iii is warmer than the n3? Anyways they are definitely not night and day but I do notice a difference. You could always bump the lower mids and bass down a bit with the eq, to thin out the sound.
