Rockbox will be great but there is nothing wrong with the stock firmware.
Was rock solid when I tried, very stable and very smooth ( fast ).

Yes, I did mean custom firmware but I did not exactly mean Rockbox although it would be awesome if that happened.
What I wanted to know was if there is some way I can change the default UI themes like you could do with some of the FiiO players.
They provided a tool to extract and repack the files from a firmware pack. You could tweak some coordinates in a configuration file to move the icons around and modify some of the image files to create your own themes all while keeping the binary blobs (that contain the actual proprietary code that runs on the CPU to provide all of the player's functionality) intact.
