JR.com has it on sale for $120 with free ship. Are they worth it or should I go for the IE8?

If you won't more bass (lots more bass) go with the IE8, but the IE7 is definitely worth $120. It's almost a steal and still plenty of bass. It's a great sounding IEM.

Are they neutral sounding like the HD600? I don't want it if it's warm like the HD650.

Well, they're probably the most neutral one that Sennheiser offers, meaning it's a neutral-ish warm sounding iem. $118 is a great price. I recently grabbed the IE8s for like $280, and wishing I would have saw this first. The IE8 is better, but not by THAT much.

Everyone says the IE8's have much more bass, but that's not really how I remember the difference between the 2 when I had the IE7's. At minimum setting on IE8, the bass quantity seemed pretty equal to that of the IE7. Of course, if you crank up the dial, it's going to be a different story, but the differences I remember are a more fluid/lush midrange on the IE8's, and a much better soundstage. That's about it. I could be wrong though.

$120 is a steal. They've never been close to that low. Ever. I wish I hadn't bought my pair 2 weeks ago.

I'd describe them more as "natural" rather than "neutral". They're very fun to listen to.

Wow, I just got in a pair of Monster Turbines (that I paid $130.00 for). I'm really enjoying them, but if I'd known about $120.00 IE7s I'd probably have gone with that. TheIE7s were $160.00 when I ordered my Turbines.

I'll be picking these up and selling my TripleFi 10s. If the IE7 fits as well as the cheapo CX300-IIs that I had a while ago, I'm going to be extremely happy. I can't tell you how much I hate the fit and cord of the TF 10s.

Monster is selling the turbines for $39 refurb =/.

New ones go for 60ish? You must be international.

Unfortunately when I ordered my Turbines monster didn't have any refurbs in stock :frowning2:   But I will say that I am extremely happy with these IEMs so I'm not heartbroken at having paid $130.00. As for new ones going for $60.00 Only place I've seen that is on eBay, and I don't trust those not to be fakes (though they could easily be $40.00 refurbs that people are re-selling to make a quick buck). At any rate, I'd rather buy from someone I know is selling real Turbines (in this case, Amazon).

Amazon had them for $60 new but it was a special. I absolutely hated them. Are the ie7 similar to the turbines?

The IE7's are much much cleaner sounding, and do everything the turbines do, but better. The turbines bass is so strong you feel you're driving in hip-hop loving 13yo's dream car, meaning they're fun as hell, will shake your inner organs and are brilliant with some generes, but lack definition. The ie7's on the other hand have a tighter sounding bass that is clear and although not as thumping as the turbines, still fun to listen for extended periods of time. They sound very real, and the soundstage is enormous! As to wether they are similar or not, both are dynamic drivers, so they are bound to have some similarities in their signatures, but the ie7 are more refined and better tuned, it would be hard to go wrong with the ie7's as they sound brilliant with just about anything you throw at them
:)
