Hi there. What replacement HD800S cables are known for being the top choices or most valuable in there price range? I think max price i would pay is around 550$.

I would want one all the way cotton braided. That can add resouloution and details in every FR range and still sound less harsh/sibilant then stock one if thats managble?

Cables don't change the sound unless they're defective.

You can save 500 dollars buying from skyaudiocables ebay shop or 450 buying from customcans uk. Custom cans makes a bit nicer cable but both are good.

Been very happy with my Cardas Clear cable. I don't hear sibilance or harshness with that connected (HD800).

They seem great but a bit pricey. But i have been eying them. Could be an option and looks durable.

Did you notice less sibilance going with clear compared to stock?

I enjoy my Norne Draug 3 with the HD800S. Ergonomics are second to none. I had no problem with the stock cable, but since mine did not come with a 4-Pin XLR alternative, I needed a third-party cable. The stock cable is already very good. If it were the original HD800, however, I would not want to be using a silver-plated copper cable, but that is just me. The slightly warmer tilt of the HD800S makes this less of an issue.

I found a good deal on a popular online auction site

The Clear I found easier on the ear over the stock cable and found I could listen to harsher recordings with it. Less sibilance, especially with female vocal.

It's nice cable (dual 3-pin connectors are nicely made) but the sheath has a nylon outer and does fray quite easily if rubbing on surface edges.

Yes, I should have said that I'm using the original HD800. Cardas Clear does add just a little warmth, so not sure about it with the HD800S.

Context is also important.

My discomfort across the board of headphones (most at least) manifests as hot spotting right in the middle on the top of my head. This (in most cases) only requires a re-adjustment every hour or so. In part, it's why I've dealt with it whilst owning the HD800 a whole bunch of times.

Otherwise I do consider the HD800 a rather comfortable headphone.

I definitely feel this. I went though a lot of hoops making them comfortable for myself. Made a custom headband mod, loosened the clamp on the metal band, and swapped to lighter more flexible cables. More comfortable for me than just about anything, but the empyrean.

I was wondering - for those who have heard a Susvara and a 800S--- which is cleaner sounding?

I find the susvara somewhat padded with a bit of haze- IMHO and am looking cleaner sound.

Also- is the 800S as full sounding as the Susvara or is it thinner sounding?????

May i know which cable are included in HD800S ? I saw official Sennheiser website some mentioned 6.3mm and 4 XLR balanced, some mentioned 6.3mm and 4.4 balanced

Confuse now.

Plan to get one but my DAP have 3.5, 2.5 and 4.4 balanced only
