OK, I'll create an article. It'll take a bit of redrafting (and possibly photo-making) time though. :)

Here's my Senn HD 800/600/25, Amperior, LCD-2, and M50 comparison article:

I use an Ikea wall-mount hook meant for bathroom use.
Big sturdy, and costs $1. If you want to make it pretty then I'm sure it can be DIY'ed.
Having said that, I would mind having one of those Woo stands.

thats what I use for my cheaper headphones, and I have a garden hose hook on my desk for my better headphones like hd800s

I use one of these. Functional and profoundly ugly, you can use them to hang your headphones laterally and vertically. Will survive nuclear winter. A sad thing when you use a KSH-1 with one of the best headphones you can get.

^The $15 Sennheiser adjustable headphone holders replaced the garden hose hooks for me and don't have a footprint (take up any surface area)...I dig 'em. Not very different from those hooks.

I love those Sennheiser hooks; very attractive, and a perfect fit for the HD-800. I wish I had a few of those instead of the industrial-design KSH-01. It even comes in garish colors. But it's unrivaled in being able to display headphones flat or laterally:

what if i want them upside down, for the desired effect?

Well, the biggest advantage to this headphone hook is that you can use them as pictured (which is ideal if you're hooking them to a vertical board), or horizontally. They're the only headphone hook that allows this, as well as an appearance that clashes with everything in your room:

I swear, the bass on the HD800s can be so primordial at times.  It's utterly satisfying.  Maybe it's the stage and the feeling the sound is bigger than it actually is, not sure what.  The LCD-2s, in comparison, can sound more flaccid in the same passage.

In case anyone has both headphones and wants to try the experiment, I'm watching instant Netflix, Battlestar Galactica (modern), Season 1: Episode 1.  These particular drums hit around 41:11-40:48.

Agreed, I've mentioned this a couple times.

Sometimes the LCDs leave me wanting by comparison.  Flaccid is a good word.  Hard time really finding a better descriptor.  I don't think the Audeze's have ever outpunched my 800s.

I want to upgrade in the future from HD650, and the only thing that keeps me away from HD800 is the reviews about how the bass is lacking. Do you really find that HD800 competes with LCD2?

the hd 800 still have bass and they are definitely not lacking lol. they are more resolving and detailed than the LCD-2 especially in the high-end. the LCD-2 is just darker with better bass.

in amount of bass the lcd2 wins, but I prefer the hd800 because its sounds like a deeper more detailed bass and I would never call them lacking but that depends on the set up

I love the HD800's bass, but the LCD-2 (and especially LCD-3) have them beat with quantity and quality of bass IMO. I know there's more to it than a 50Hz square wave response, but you gotta admit, the LCD-x's can better reproduce this than the HD800s by a good margin.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong though, the HD800 does other things better (such as sound staging, detail retrieval.
