Sennheiser HD 700: Officially Unveiled at CES 2012!

Comfort is a pretty big deal IMO, and is something Sennheiser currently dominates, although Denon and Audio Technica are also extremely good. I don't find Beyers as comfortable as people hype them, because I have a big head and Beyers and a lot of other headphone companies are too small, except for AT and Denon and Senn.

I've never tried a Hifiman though, but I will tomorrow at the local meet.

Every single day, I'm getting more curious of how big your head is.

Haha. Seriously though I don't think it's that abnormally big, I don't think it looks strange at least. If I had a tape measure it would be interesting to measure I guess though.

It's on pre-order for £599 ($950) here with the 20% VAT. http://www.custom-cable.co.uk/sennheiser-hd700-audiophile-headphones.html

Now if you live outside of the EU and apply VAT free, then it would be £480 ($760) £499.99 ($790). Quite strange that they priced it that much lower then the quoted $999. The site has very positive reviews as well on google checkout, so it looks legitimate as far as I can see.

Failed O-level maths then.

Take 20% VAT off £599.99 and you get = £499.99 - NOT - £480.

But I don't think they are allowed to sell abroad as it's covered by the same dealer agreement as the HD 800.

A price like that and they wont even bother to assemble it in Germany? I'm sure someone will tell me how it doesn't matter, but to many people it generally does. Well, not that I would buy it if it was made in germany... = )
