And what is your point? They graph look similar? All the 6x0 looks pretty similar. That doesn't mean that they sound the same or that they perform the same. If so, we'd all just buy whichever one was least expensive.

The 58X is arguably the closest measuring HP of the 6 series.

How did you measure and on what testing rig? Measurements are ideally coupled with all of the context; testing gear, signal type, methodology, compensation (if any), etc.

This looks like Solderdude's measurement from DIY Audio Heaven: https://diyaudioheaven.wordpress.com/headphones/measurements/brands-s-se/hd-660s2/

His review is one of a few that helped me to decide to buy the HD660S2 even though I already had the 58X, and I'm definitely not sorry I bought them, love the 660S2.

Solderdude describes his measurement rig here:
The measurements are made on a home made and not calibrated measurement ‘rig’ and not with an official (and very expensive) HATS. They are made to satisfy my own curiosity.

I recommend checking his page out, he reviewed (and measured) some older Sennheiser models recently, like the HD250 Linear II or HD 560 Ovation, really interesting read

Er you realise that they both sound vastly different still? I can say that because I extensively listened to both and this clearly shows again how you can not just judge a graph with another, compare their prices alongside and then say "yeah in this case the HD 58X is better because its cheaper but has the "same" frequency response as the more expensive model". Otherwise you could create an in-ear with the same response as say the 660S2, but obviously they will still sound very different given the different driver sizes and etc.

Posts like these weirdly annoy me given that this seems like a dead horse that has been beaten to minced meat at this point and we figured out over and over again already that similar/same frequency does not mean the same sound.

Sorry, I had to login just for that but this triggers me weirdly. Time for a tea.

Just got a pair of HD660S2 with the sale going on and plugged them in, first on Folkvangr and now on Mjolnir 3, both with Yggy MIB. Is it just me, or are these really good, like endgame level? A bit shouty perhaps, but overall better than I expected, especially given the on-sale price. I have a lot of flagship headphones, but these seem to hold their own! Perhaps they're scaling well with the gear?

These are my first 6xx series Senns; can't believe I hadn't tried them sooner.

I had a very similar reaction plugging them into the Mjolnir 3. Not that I have a lot of experience with endgame gear, but I was surprised at how well the S2 scaled up and showed me what the Mjolnir 3 was capable of.
