  LF 339... Auww

That's out of my league, cost me $600 here... BTW, Grado considered as aggressive can right? Maybe it's a suitable match? How does DV 336 sound with HD600 and I wish you can share your tube rolling experience. Deep inside, I wish 336 tube rolling can outperform Crack or at least sit next to each other.

BTW, since you used to listened to both of 336 and 339, mind to share your impressions for these two? Oh my... I'd been spamming here and there asking question.

It is hard to compare the 336 and 339... Well before the 339 I thought the 336/HD600 combo is the best of all but that has changed after I had the 339...

Jokes aside, the 339 is hell lot more powerful but the 336 is already more than enough. Sound is more warm-ish on the 336 with most tubes (I chose a Sylvania 6SN7 with either a RCA 6AS7 or Tung-Sol 5998), while the 339 is more Solid-state by the spectrum. Think darkvoice as really being a dark, warm tone.

A very unique and addictive/seductive sound signature I'll say. And the 336 is a lot cheaper at tube rolling as it uses a single tube instead of pairs. Some people perform different sorts of capacitor mods if you need something to believe your 336 is on par with the Crack, if you know what I mean

What do you mean with your last line? I don't really get it. Haha...

What aftermarket cable you guys ever used to replace stock HD600 cable? Anyone ever try van damme or canare cable?

Just made up a balanced cable yesterday with some Canare L-4E6S, fairly thick so not recommended for portable use, but in comparison with the stock cable which I also modified for balance use, there is a slight increase in the richness of the overall sound with slightly better bass extension and smoother highs, I had similar results years ago using the same cable unbalanced on my AKG K501s.
I’d contribute the improvements do to the thicker gauge but this would also be in conjunction with the amp being used, so results would vary.

Some good pertinent info here if going “DIY”

I also made a balanced cable with Canare L4e6s mainly because it is so cheap on ebay... less than $1 per ft for a quad...

Balanced means it's completely a new wiring right? I'm interested to try this:

Above is not balanced right? Claimed better than stock cable. Anyway, HD650 cable really benefit HD600?

That is NOT balanced, so you are good. As per the second question about cable and sound performance... I'll let others to answer that question

The HD650 cable has less of a veil, i.e. cleares sound.

You don't realise that it's there until you compare the cables,
