Or much less with an OTL tube amp.
There is another option, Fosi Audio P2, it costs half as much, but I have never dealt with tube amplifiers, and this one is not expensive, so I'm worried about the quality, but if it manages, then for my budget it will be a very pleasant moment.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it, sorry. As a budget amp, can the Creek OBH-11 be considered? They sell it for $100. There are simply no other options, but I wanted to ask if someone was listening. Thanks in advance!
If you just listen to the 600 with the same amp and don't compare I don't think most listeners would feel there is NO problem - assuming u like the 600 sound.

Since 2015 I've had mine on 4 amps. 3 quite high flying SS amps: Ragnarok 1, Bryston BHA-1, Violectric v-281. And one moderately overbuilt Bottlehead Crack OTL tube amp - cheaper (much) than the SS stars and it crushes them all. Note: I haven't owned a tube amp in like 25 years preferring SS class A amps.

Well at least read reviews if not listen. The BHC gets rapturous reviews here with the 600.

The fact is that life circumstances develop in such a way that all my choice comes down literally to those two options that I spoke about earlier. There are neither large funds nor the choice of the technique itself. So I'm trying to figure out which option for 600 would be preferable. I like it, really like their character, I'm not sure I'm ready for the tube color ... But the price of $ 40 for a tube amplifier attracts. Although I somehow believe in a transistor more ... In general, I'm confused

I keep wondering what the 660s's are like compared to the 600, but anyway, the 600's met and exceeded all my expectations. And I wanted to ask: is it difficult to remove the ear pads and headband lining, if suddenly they need to be washed or cleaned? I'm afraid to break something with my crooked hands)
The ear pads come off by pulling them straight out of the housing, it`s fastened with a plastic ring on the pad side.
The headband pad comes off by pulling out the little plastic clip on the picture (where it says "Made in Ireland") and slides out. I normaly use a small plastic piece to get this off.

I actually had Zana Deux in mind when I was thinking about scaling. Corresponding solid state would be Pass Labs/OOR stack.

Those who have tried or owned HD 800s and 600: Can you confirm if 800s is brighter than the 600? I got to try the 800s briefly and the first thing that popped to me, before the soundstage, was their harshness on some songs. I know I can compare the frequency response, but I wanted to ask someone who has personal experience.

You are not alone. 800 sounds broken to me without heavy EQ. I tried to like it for a decade - just move on.

800S or a pair of 800s?

The 800s (not S) have a treble peak but whether it bothers you or not depends on your gear and what music you're listening to. Certainly the 800s are brighter than the 600s but I guess your question is, is the 800 (or S) better than the 600? Despite the numbering, the 800 is not the general purpose headphone that a pair of 600s is even though it is a more technical and "better" headphone.

The 800 wins for orchestras, big venues etc. but the 600 is better all around if you listen mostly to other kinds of music. Both might be worth having, there is not much overlap. The 800 is analytical, the 600 is extremely musical.

Thanks, this helped a lot. I just wanted to clarify about the detail with the inscription "Made in Ireland". To snap it off, you need to pry it from the side where the headband pads are (from the top) and pull it towards you? With a red arrow, I indicated the intended place where you need to pry the part, and with a green arrow, the direction in which you need to apply force. I won't break the plastic fasteners? It just feels like it sits very firmly in its place.

I had an HD 800 (not the "s") and yes, was too bright for my taste and thin. Used with Woo Audio WA2 and BH Crack/SB. I could not get into it no matter how many times I tried to like it. Strangely, I love the DT-1990 Pro with Dekoni Velour Elites. Very balanced for me and not harsh at all. The HD-600 is very balanced and much better than the HD 800 I used. I pretty much am an all tube guy when it comes to high imp headphones.

Yes, that’s correct. It will need some force to get it off, but should not break, just try to do it carefully and apply an even pressure to the backside of it.

Really like the 600. Respect the 800s. 800s have a much better sounstage, almost a 10 vs 1 thing. 600 pads too small. 800 comfort city. 800s ruthless on non SOTA equipment.

I haven't heard the 800s on OTL amps but it's said they are great in part because they tone down the treble. I know what those amps do for the 600s - even improves the stage.
