hi there this is tomo from HFI and rooth.

to answer some questions...

1) when we say its a limited run, we are talking like 15 and not 50.

2) the reason behind releasing an IEM like this was to show what the potential can be.

The sound is very neutral and will be fun to change cables, amps, etc.

we are saving a few slots for any head-fiers.

next stop will be in south korea for the demo.

While a technology demonstration is interesting the vast majority of us (notably those in North America and Europe) are going to miss out.  Rooth could expand it's world wide presence by being first out of the gate with a great sounding 10 BA driven CIEM.

For a CIEM availability is an attractive quality.

I was wondering when news of this would spread. Apparently, it will be closest in sound to the LS8+. I'm wondering how they'll manage to cram that many drivers in, and if the CIEM will suitable for all canal sizes.

Edit: I've also put myself on the priority list for the universal dynamic hybrid, which is due for release come fall.

I'll be reviewing the LS8+ a few weeks after receiving it. I'll only have the AUD-8X to compare it too, but will aim the review at users of mid-tier customs, who are thinking of moving up to top-tier.

I also heard of it a while ago and I may have an opportunity to hear it.  I am looking forward to the LS8+ review.

Average Joe to the rescue.  Mind you, it's your fault I got so interested in the almost unobtainable SE5.

I'll probably be able to hear it in a few days (JM-Plus is located where I live).

Apparently, it's a limited edition, so each area only gets a few; they state that Taiwan only gets a maximum of three units. I'm guessing the worldwide quota is 50 or so...

Any good IEM retailers in Taiwan especially in Taipei to recommend? I would like to try out some IEMs while I'm there

JM-Plus is real good. They have Rooth, FitEar, and most other big brands as well, like UE, Westone, etc. I should warn you I'm biased because I'm good friends with the owner, but it really is one of the best places to try stuff out; you can also try X-Wind, which has FAD stuff too, including the PF series. These are basically the only two places I go, unless I need to audition specific items, like Hifiman.

Thanks a lot for your recommendations and honesty!

Music Hi-Fi is the distributor for Hifiman here. If their name seems familiar, they were the ones that commissioned Jan Meier to build that funky looking pyramid tube amp, so they're a longtime stalwart in the hi-fi business. I don't like going there mostly because it's out of the way from my usual travel routes and I don't know the people there well, but they have a lot of stuff. I don't think they have the RE-600 yet, but I think they have the HM-901 available.

I had a try with the rooth ls10-1. I felt that it was very good. Compared to the ls8+ I felt that the high's were a lot smoother and also more extended. The mids was also more smoother and detailed. The bass of the ls10 was more refined although the ls8+ had more bass. Over all I think that it' very balanced and I liked it a lot. I have an appointment tomorrow with them to purchase one as I tried it on Friday and wanted to embed some trinkets on the faceplate so they had to get back to me on that.

Nice and congrats!  I am looking forward to an opportunity to hear the LS10 myself, and your eval has made that wait seem even longer considering I know how nice the rest of the Rooth lineup is.

More LS10-1 impressions, please.  I'm fascinated that a company has made a 10 driver complex crossover model that impresses.  So far I understand the highs are very smooth and extended.  How's the sub bass?
