Well, it had a huge following a couple of years ago in the wonderful "rediscovery" spirit. Let me quote myselfo from another thread (http://www.head-fi.org/t/522689/wahts-in-the-bag/60):
 
K340 is a wonderful ‘phone, the laboured outcome of panic stricken Viennese AKG engineers (Uncle Meat in his secret laboratory, laughing his special pseudo-scientific laugh?):
 
1976: Beyer presented the ET1000 electrostatic headphone.
1977: Sennheiser introduced the Unipolar 2000 electret headphone.
1978: AKG threw in all they got: a dynamic driver, an electret tweeter and six (!) passive bass radiators - the K340 electrostatic/dynamic headphone.
 
The K340 was avenged by history. Which model of the three above is remembered and treasured today? The ugly duckling. It has some issues but also many virtues.

The K 340 is an enjoyable listen. But worth the usual ~100 euros? ...No.

I got them from the same deal from Musician's Friend however I think I saw the deal on dealnews.com. I don't watch the Head-Fi deal thread as closely as I PROBABLY should.

Just received a brand new white Q701. Really great headphone for the money.
 
Tried and returned a K550 earlier in the week. Really bad fit issue.
