Through my unamped iPhone 4 listening to apple lossless files like Areosmiths Crazy and Green Days Brain Stew, these sound very similar. There is more bass on these and it's slightly boomier. The mids and highs are slightly more detailed on the Golds. I'm using the Sony foam filled tips on both. I'm going to see if I can find a guy to fix the splitter on these so it's not sideways. These are very good for the price!
@Zero thanks!

No Problem!! I had been doing the waiting game for a while but now mine are under the tree. Were you comparing them to the MTPGs? I have those are well and currently actually like my VSonic GR02 BE better. Tighter Bass and Clarity overall is better.

I just received some of these today and I'm absolutely shocked how good the sounds is from them... from my PC and my phone. I have a '08 Creative Zen X-Fi mp3 player and when I try to use these in that the sound is really recessed. It sounds like there's no bass at all and the vocals are so far back. It sounds like you are listening to some music being played through a distant car.

Any ideas why the sound could be so different? Could it be the standards difference between the MH1 and MH1C supporting not mixing with the player or?

Edit: trying to find out which headphones I actually got. They look like this: http://www.omnistore.gr/images/black-01.jpg and the cable tag says "MH1" but the invoice says MH1C and I ordered the MH1C's, which should apparently look like this: http://www.thetechtree.co.uk/ebay/upload/gallery/sony-mh-1c.jpg

Like I say everything works with my phone and PC fine but not with the Zen Mp3 player. Would the MH1C's work with the mp3 player better? Could this be the source of the sound difference?

Well I have an MH1C and it also did the same thing when I tried it out of my step-dad's Zen. Works perfectly with everything else I've tried it with though.

But yeah, going by the pic you did get the older one.

Yes I was talking about the MTPGs. I was really surprised! I could only tell the difference when I listened critically (except for the bass). I like the fit of these much better since there're smaller and lighter. Your comment about the Vsonic makes me want to try the Gr07.

Get the gr02 be for $36 first to try them out but I will also be gettin the gr07 be in a while. I just switched from my gr02 to my mtpg while listening to some DIO and there is more flabby low end but the everything is just loose, mids highs everything, I put the gr02s back in - ohh so much better.

Let's enjoy all our new toys this Holiday Season and at the same time remember those that are hurting for one reason or another.

Quick Q: I'm new to IEM's and while I enjoy the sound from the MH1's I'm really having a hard time getting a reliable seal/fit with the tips. The large ones fit the best and don't pop out but I lose some of the bass with these. The Medium tips seem to seal well but fairly easily come out while walking or some moving. If the cable isn't in just the right place the left earpiece pops out by itself. The small tips seem to seal well enough but I can always 'feel' them almost pushing in my ear canal. They're not hurting and I've not pushed them in too far but I'm just very aware they're there. They seal but don't feel 'comfortable'.

I'm wearing the earphones in the intended position with the right hand earphone around the back of my neck and with them down, not over the ears.

How do I find a reliable fit that keeps the seal well during movement/exercise with these tips?
