LOL.  I know, huh?   The 400's were the first balanced IEM's for me as well.
 
If you're anything like me, you're going to be listing to songs that you've heard a hundred times before but you're going to be hearing things in those songs that you've NEVER heard before.    You really don't know what you've been missing until you hear what you've been missing.

I somehow came across some UE900 large silicon tips. Another nice fit for the RE-400. Makes the music even more 3D and deepens the bass. These tips work really well with the H-200 too. Loving the sound.

That doesn't mean they'll work for your ears though. I've often tried out tip recommendations that supposedly made an earphone way better,  and disagreed.

Which is precisely why trying to say one iem is better than another is so difficult. Makes a bit of a mockery of it, in fact.

hmm I'm pinned between the RE-400's and the ATH-CKM500...roughly close in price but im torn between the two.

don;t think they are close in price or you are getting the Re-400 very cheap or the CKM500 too expensive.
 
the ckm500 is about $50 and the re-400 $100

they're only about 20 bucks apart from where i am. so the AT is a bit more expensive here.
