I know some of you guys are waiting for your pair of FA-011s to come. Here are images of an unboxing I found on a Russian forum: http://doctorhead.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7479&start=75

Would love to push for swappable wooden cups.. other than that these cans are absolutely gorgeous! I hope they are as comfortable as LFF claims..

The earcups don't look that deep.  Has outer ear pressure been an issue for you, LFF?

No not at all.

Usually if something changes after I write a review, I'll go back and make an edit or at least make sure I comment on it.

I still find these to be super comfy and any issue of non-comfort is non-existent with these...at least for me. I wore them for 4 hours straight last night and I did not get one inch of sore scalp or ears nor did I get even a drop of perspiration within the cups. Keep in mind that this is strictly based on my head and others with larger or smaller dimensions might feel differently but out of the 17 people who have tried them all 17 have mentioned that they are indeed extremely comfortable. This includes men and women.

one thing.
Is this completely circumaural or will it be touching my ears?

The pads completely cover your ears but my ears barely touch the inside of the pads. However, I had lunch with another head-fi member today and they touched his ears. I hope he chimes in about the FA-011 later. In other words, you get complete coverage but whether or not your ears will touch the inside will depend on your individual anatomy.

I think you gave me the information I needed. Thanks.
I had one of these headphones design before. With these other headphones my ears tuch mildly the inner cloth. I think that is ok!

maybe LFF should spec out the size of his head/ears in his profile...
so that we can have a reference point to gauge his future reviews..
in terms of comfort on the head, how it cups his ears.

Is anybody else unnerved that Fischer is releasing high quality equipment such as their highly acclaimed Master Series alongside crappy drugstore headphones/IEMs? A business model like this is going to kill their reputation.

Well AKG, Sennheiser, Philips and all are still in business...

Thanks for the links.  I passed the original review through Google Translator -- from what I could piece together, that review of the FA-011 was lukewarm at best.

In any case, I'm in for a pair -- they're so cheap, I couldn't not give them a try!  Should be interesting to give them a listen when they eventually arrive.

Well the reviewer said the bass and mids are very good..but treble seems to be over emphasized. If that is taken care, then everything will be fine. I am not a big fan of treble (spoiled by 601 and se530). It will be interesting to how this is going to fit for me.

Definitely not the most enthusiastic review of the FA-011s, and they kept on ragging about the brown box lol. On page 6, I think they're talking about LLF's review : "At the head-FAE is a review. In addition, he lit on the home page

."

I'm also worried about the overemphasized treble. If the highs are any harsher than my SR225is, the FA-011s would make for a bad listening experience. That said, I'm excited to see mods for this $118 USD set of cans =O. Still can't get over the price.

People become attuned to a certain sound signature. I currently have some denon d2000, Ultrasone 8s, and FA-003s not including other headphones that I've ordered that aren't in yet. I'm doing some comparisons of a half dozen or so headphones. I have to say that I currently like the 003s the best. I think I'm hooked on the open sound and the velour? earpads!
