does anybody know where I can get cables for these headphones? preferrably shorter ones because the stock ones are too long for portable use (which im currently using for).

you use these for portables?!! woah man these are huge.

I'm gonna make me my own cables, It wont be that hard, and I was thinking 1.5 m overall.

I got the FA-011s this morning and have been burning them in all day. Must say I love them. But also love my 003s. The 003s are more analytical. The 011s are more fun and have more attack and punch.

Yup. That's why I feel that they compliment each other perfectly. Having the FA-003 and the FA-011, there is little more a head-fi'er needs.

more a sidestep than an upgrade. They sound quite different from each other. the wood changes the sound quite abit.

I learned that from the grados yes, I guess they stop the neutrality and grow some bass / punch. I dont have a problem with that as long as it doesnt affect the mids/highs.

the bass increases and somehow i find the treble tamer. not as aggressive as the stock cups( i haven tried leather dampers) but that might be because the sudden treble peak is no logner present.

I got my FA-003 about 3 days ago and they are perfect for me, incredible comfy even when we got 35 celcius here ( no air conditioner 5-9  ) and they sound perfect me me , i'm totally in love.

Has anyone tried the woodie variants of the FA003? is it an upgrade or sidestep?

Depends on what you consider an upgrade....

I would personally say it's a sidestep. The sound does change and not in a subtle way. The sound becomes more relaxed, warmer and very musical while maintaining an overall accurate presentation.

To me, the FA-003 is accurate on the colder side of neutral. The FA-002W is accurate on the warmer side of neutral.

Can any FA-003 users can propose DAC/AMP for them?

I was thinking about iBasso D6 but i dont know too much in this matter :) or to get even better sounding i should replace my Xonar D1 with X-Fi prelude 7.1?

I'm listen my music 95% time at my PC anyway.

I use a Musical Fidelity V-DAC & V-PSU with a Little Dot MKIV Tube amp, connected to my MacBook via optical. Sounds delightful.

I also used prior to this Fiio E7/E9 and the V-DAC/V-PSU with the Fiio E9, all good combos.

I don't think the FA-003 is too picky and scales up with better quality sources and amplification.

So I've tried asking around and not a lot of people I've asked have tried the FA-003s.

I'm more or less torn between these and the ATH-ESW9as. What would you all suggest for someone who listens to electronic/glitch-hop/downtempo, jazz, classical?

I currently have the HD555s and like the neutral signature.
