Just because the SM3 is more expensive doesn't mean it's a bad product. The RE262 is a good earphone but tailors to a certain sound and I'm sure the SM3 tailors to a different sound. I can guarantee that many will choose the RE262 over the SM3 but at the same time many will choose the SM3 over the RE262. Preference goes a long way here :)
 
Then again I've been quite content with my M2 lately..


I completely agree :D, and glad to see my thread isn't as heated as Joker's lol
 
If you spend $300 and it makes you happy, good for you.  If you spend $100 and it makes you happy, good for you.  If you spend $100 or $300 and you're not happy with it, well then there might be an issue.

I spent £105 to get my 262s.  I spent £300 to get my SM3s.
 
The 262 is better than the SM3.

I think I have to take back my vow to never go back to armature drivers. After seeing this review I'm very interested in the SM3 and how it compares to my Miles Davis Tributes.
