I'm glad it did , at least put that thought to rest and allow me to go reach out for the unbroken ones :) At least save time and fuss .

Anyway a minty unbroken polished chrome is on the way . By this coming weekend

I was able to try out the MDR 7550's yesterday with my Plenue D and Headstage Arrow 5tx. 
 
I found that they did hit pretty hard but didnt seem to achieve the same level of impact that I can get with the 2.5s.
 
The bass sounded cleaner overall but less impact. I think the 2.5s could achieve this kind of bass as well but I keep my ports at 25-30%.
 
Also I didnt like the treble as much, I felt it was recessed compared to the 2.5s where I find they have more sparkle. 
 
Have any of you also tried them and agree?
