Following some extensive tip rolling as well as cable rolling, I'd say a lot of the issues I had initially have been resolved, and the treble + staging really is incredible... The Trailli will be entering the signature after all, and the infographic will be getting posted in a bit

In the meantime, to be able to justify this madness, the stock cable is getting posted for sale - personally found that pairing to be one of the least pleasant ones for my preferences

The treble on these really is what it's hyped to be, and after the cable sale it'll actually bring the total cost of acquisition to under 3000$ for me, which is within what I was willing to pay for the set... oh well how times change :D

I've said all along the Traillii is a $3000 IEM with a $2000 cable, and at that price it's probably the best value in summit-fi porta-fi at this point in time. Add $2000 to any IEM without a fancy cable and then compare like for like if price is a factor. Looking forward to the infographic and your continued commentary on the Bird now that it's come home to roost.

The Trailli being one of the best 3000$ IEMs on the market - 100%

The 1960s that comes with it at 2000$? I don't see it. From the stock pentaconn plug with the awkward heatshrink, the random carbon fiber split matched with a wooden slider and the tacky glossy pins? I reaaaaally don't see it. If they included something like the PW Metropolis x 1950s or 1960s I'd be way more inclined to justify keeping the cable

I did find it strange that they used the wooden slider, and it's quite a mixrophonic cable with that stiff nylon finish. The original 4w 1960s has all hexagon hardware which is super sexy. The Traillii cable is a bit of a Frankenstein in that regard. But the SQ is unimpeachable IMO.

The Oriolus Trailli

Personal feelings on the IEM: While I misjudged whether the sound will be for me or not, I'd say that my thoughts on the stock cable, packaging and design of the IEM pretty much stayed the same after receiving it. On sound, the Trailli really is exceptional, and amongst the very best. A little too musical in the midrange, but balanced by a crisp, clear and extremely sparkly estat treble. Responds very well to cable rolling, and found massive improvement going from the stock 1960s to the Eletech Aeneid, especially in that the Aeneid added some thickness and texture to the sound and made the lower treble a little smoother.

Absolutely cannot recommend at 6600$, but AFAIK these are still selling at around 5000$ new - personal recommendation is get these if you can secure a buyer for the cable at around 1000-1500$, so total cost of acquisition is at under 4 - within that price, 100% recommended despite the design, cable and packaging

Excellent IEM, and I am more than glad to have been proven wrong <3

After you minus the cost by selling the stock cable, you will have to add back $2.4k for the Aeneid? In which case you‘ll bring back the cost to $5-6k 😁

The Aeneid is IMHO an absolutely incredible product and cable. I'm more than happy to pay 2400$ for it and support the company behind it. The stock 1960s is already back in the box collecting dust lol, it just has no value to me in that sense

I think your new format is great. Are you going to update your old reviews to the new format?

Thank you! Only for IEMs that I have with me currently, when I have a little more spare time I'll convert them little by little

Can you share a list with the iems that you have now and that potentially will get the updated review? Thank you!

Got it. But back to my point, the total cost for the Traili minus stock cable plus Aeneid will still be $5-6k.

yeah, i also don't quite understand the logic when you only don't count the cable if you don't like it, but for the even more expensive one that you like price suddenly doesn't matter :D
