well it does happen for tennis balls, then they reach a point where their performance begins to deteriorate, then you call for fresh ones

Yeah, such a short life indeed. They give their all, get smashed around and then discarded like an old tire. . . oh speaking of tires for track work the Europeans always had one up on the guys from the US because of the way they would age their track tires for bikes. They were refrigerated in a certain way which would toughen them up and they created less friction on the track for a faster ride.

Hey maybe I'll start burning in my amps in the frig. . . yeah . .

Really just destroys the crap out of the EMU 0404 usb -> Yamamoto set up I've been using for 6 months or so now.

Biggest improvements are again heavily in the areas of soundstage/resolution/clarity/detail/decay. The Tubed Yamamoto adds a little bit of weight/tone/warmth to sound which I wouldn't necessarily better than the Pico Amp directly, but its a very, very different sound and quite fun.


This has given me some justification for getting the Pico...which I really had none before.

yeah some how burn-in + refrigerator doesn't often go hand in hand...

That reminds of something I figured out the other day when it was very hot here and I could'nt get the pins out of an ipod dock connector.

Steve's off topic tip of the day:

When DIY'ing a LOD, put your dock in the freezer for a bit. The unused pins are then much easier to remove.

I thought about cryoing my head. Just imagine the change in my hearing. . . . wait. . I'm not sure that would work. . . I hate getting cold.

All right then! wait, how do I rule out the placebo effect? I mean what do I use as a standard, a reference if you will? There is always a bump in the road to progress. . . . .
