This will be the 5th forum-organised Head-Fi public meet for Sydney. Below you will find details on current attendees, expected gear list, and date/time/venue details. If you wish to attend please feel free to post interest in this thread with a gear list you expect to bring.

Please avoid generalities such as 'i'll bring a few headphones' or 'I don't have much but will bring some stuff anyway'. Please be specific in all items that you expect to have with you on the day, as this helps maintain an accurate gear list and gives us an idea as to source/amp/cable shortages that would skew the audition process.

Event Details
Venue: Hall Chadwick Company Boardroom.
Date: Saturday 21st June
Time: 2:00pm-6:00pm. Dinner afterwards for those who want to stay for it.
Travel Info:

Address for the venue is: level-29, St Martins Tower, 31 Market St, Sydney. Google Maps Link. This is about a 5 minute walk from Town Hall station and right behind the QVB. I will be travelling to the venue by train so anyone unsure about how to get there can meet me at the station.

Directions from Town Hall station: Take the Druitt St exit from the station, and head straight up York St, past the Galaxy bookstore and alongside the QVB. Follow York St until it hits Market St. St Martins Tower is on the left hand corner on the intersection between York and Market.

The building requires security card access so I will need to escort the group up as a whole, so we will arrange a time for everyone to meet at St Martins Tower entrance.

Parking IS AVAILABLE in building. Entrance to parking is on Clarence St. Cost is $12.00 flat rate for all-day access on Saturdays. Parking will be open, there will be no need for me to swipe you in, however you will need to go around to the front entrance on Market St and meet with the main group for building access.

Other info:
If any members have laptops they dont mind bringing, that would help with the use of some of the USB DACs as sources. Anyone driving to the event thats comfortable with bringing larger sources such as CD Players are highly encouraged to as well.

I will be bringing several adapters and adapter cables (RCA-mini, 1/8in to 1/4in stereo plugs, and so forth) but any other members who have various types of cables and adapters to bring are encouraged to as well. Power boards will also be a very good idea.

Update 27.05.08: Venue found! The partners at the firm in which I work were kind enough to offer the use of our board room for the event. Its a large meeting room with ample tables, chairs, and power/network connections available.

Update 28.05.08: Taking votes on time the event will start/end. Please post any times that are ideal for you/you cannot make. The times that accomodate the majority of sign ups will be finalised on Friday night 30.05.08. Parking details also posted.

Update 31.05.08: Event time finalised, 2pm-6pm. Many posts in favour of this time bracket and no dissenters. Apologies to anyone that has issues making this time slot.

Update 01.06.08: Attendance has been capped at 25 people and a gear requirement instated. We have alot of interest and only room for so many, so all those who wish to attend will be required to bring something to contribute to the gear pool. Stock iPod 'buds do not count

Update 17.06.08: Meeting details: We will be meeting at the Market St entrance to St Martin's Tower at 2pm sharp. If anyone's uncertain how to get there, drop me a PM and we can meet before 2pm at either the QVB or Town Hall steps. Look forward to seeing you all there

I'll bring the K340 and K240 Sextett, 1 of each. My attendance is tentative as I still have a paper to do and most likely a study group happening around the same time, but I'll give it my best shot.

Sweet. Dont start a war of slang though, i played World of Warcraft for enough years i should be able to out-1337speak anyone by now :P

Is it possible for you to bring your 160GB iPod Classic as well? I'd like a chance to compare it to my iRiver.

Well, I'm still tentative, will need to know a time and place and see how my schedule works out closer to the date

However, I'd just bring stuff that's not already there. So...

Stax SR-Lambda, Stax SR-404, probably won't bring my channel imbalanced SR-Lambda Pros (also since there's only 2 outputs on the Stax amp)

Dynamics I'd just bring what isn't already coming: Beyerdynamic DT880-2003, DT531.

Sources: OMZ, modded DAC-AH - would need a transport, so I guess that would mean 0404 USB + my laptop.

Amps: Stax SRM-1/MK-2, and IF interested... PPAv2 + STEPS, G&W AT-F100 and my cheap chinese clones (that I'd probably try to flog off)

Cables: Blue Jeans Cables 1505F and LC-1

Power: G&W TW-02DX power conditioner.
