I believe the correct term is "herd"

Ooo, a collective noun for headphones??? Probably a collection, which is a bit dull, so how about a flight.....

A symphony, or a chorus, or an orchestra.

Of course, for smaller numbers we can use trio, quartet, quintet...

I think that a "chorus" of headphones sounds nice

Could you tell me what sort of laptop stand you're using? I have a 16" Dell Latitude Z I'd like to use with a tilted stand, but most of the ones I see assume the use of an external keyboard, whereas what I'm looking for is closer to your setup.

Not necessarily my "normal listening area" but I have spent a good time today comparing the AKG K1000 versus an Stax Lambda Pro. Both were driven by the Red Wine Audio Signature 30.2, and in the case of the Lambda Pro I used an SRD7/Pro modded by Birgir (spritzer). IMO, and with the gear at hand I prefer the K1000 due to a wider soundstage, better instrument placement, and better overall involvement/musical presentation. Not night an day but enough of a difference for me to prefer the K1000.
