If its the 2.5mm socket that's broken? Then those Sourcingmap sockets won't be any good I don't believe, it says stereo = 3 pole, the balanced socket requires 4 pole.

Could this one be "made" to fit?

Edit:

This one is 4 pole (TRRS), the one above, I'm not sure.

There are a few options here too:

Oh, yes I missed that! I got excited at the fact the picture looks identical to the one fitted!

The second one is something I looked at, it's about the same dimensions of the one used, however I need to work out the layout of the PCB ensure the mounts on the replacement are in the same position.

The more I delve, the more I suspect it'll be an external jack I have to use. I have one in the house, but have a glimmer of hope(or is it delusion) that I'll find a SMD jack.

If you can find a socket that is around the same size or slightly smaller but with a different pin-out that would be OK, the socket could be glued in place with a small dab of hotglue or epoxy and the connections could be made to the PCB using short thin gauge flying wires. Using that method you should be able to get a repair that looks near perfect from the outside when its reassembled.

The ones from Aliexpress don't fit/work. They are the wrong dimensions and the terminals are not in the same position as the originals! Plan B I suspect.

Does the 300r have the same issues on balanced out like dp-x1?

300r is on my list. But, if it does have issues on its balanced out, then I'm going to remove it on my list.

Thanks.
What do you mean by balanced out issues? If you refer to physical issues of the jack breaking then read a couple of pages back and you'll see they suffer the same fate. My advice, look else where!

My advice, look else where!

That's a little harsh JohnRS, I'm definitely keeping my 300r, this week I've been using it wireless to my Sennheiser Momentum 2 and its a surprisingly good pairing. It sounds very nice, a little lacking in the top-end but I think that's the M2 rather than the Pioneer, some may actually prefer this sound signature. Its using an AptX connection, the pioneer shows a pop-up to confirm this. I have had no drop-outs over many hours use, to be honest I can't believe I hadn't tried this pairing before.

A second hand 300r, if it can be picked up cheap enough would be a great investment even to use wirelessly in my opinion, if its cheaper because it has a broken socket(s), then it doesn't matter if using bluetooth, it just makes sense with amongst other features its two card slots and wifi streaming capability.

Perhaps you could simply cover up your broken headphone sockets, get a pair of bluetooth headphones and enjoy it like that.

I have found the Bluetooth inconsistent-I get a good connection at home to my DeepBlue2 speaker, but it won't connect to my car Bluetooth, which is sad, I'd love to use it as music player in the car...

I've not tried to connect to the car Bluetooth. The problem I would have with it is my car only allows one device at a time to connect so I wouldn't be able to connect my phone at the same time to receive hands-free calls.

Mine cuts the music when the phone rings as well, but I don't mind (loud music isn't conducive to phone conversation). But, I just get an error, not supported...(able to connect my phone, HTC10 for music streaming).

Steve, ha ha maybe a bit blunt but honestly, that's my feeling and advice, for the price, even discounted from Japan I'd expect much better quality components to be used.
I may know someone with a 300r with no 2.5mm jack

I can get a cheap 300r from japan, but if the 2.5mm is broken, nah. Thanks, but no thanks.

The 300r has caught my attention because of its design but if there's a 50/50 chance that the 2.5mm headphone jack will get broken, I will not take a risk of getting it.

Might stick on my phone right now.
