Regarding sound, I really like it, it's really close to my previous DX300 (not in power, but in tonality and technicalities).
Regarding its size, it is ideal. It allows for easy handling, yet is still small enough to easily carry with you.
Regarding its operation, it is its weak point. It would really need a more powerful CPU to run faster. Everything runs a bit slow, at least at first, until you get used to it.
Funny ... as I was just playing with nearly the same combo these last days.. I just found that using the AZLA SednaEarfit Max for TWS was the best option for me..
I really enjoy the low profile form factor of the Quintet which is nearly better then the already very good IER-M9 => so thanks to the special 3D printing type which offers a kind of perfectly ergonomic shape for my ears, though the nozzle is rather deap and thick. (At least, the Quintet is like a rather good option for side sleepers to wear them for 6 to 8 hours without hurting the inside ears).
Actually, I am still in a brain burning period for Quintet's sound quality... I think, at this time, I still prefer the IER-M9's timbre and even mid high/high frequencies.
But, it's possible that, in a few weeks, the Quintet will become my favourite IEM over all others, this can be due to the low profile with a perfect ear fit and a very enjoyable sound quality.. over IER-Z1R, EXT, IE 900, IER-M9, XBA-N3AP, IE600, FW1800, WU Zetian ... I am impressed the result of such 270€ IEM which can offer such benefit.
I know, I know, the Quintet really starts to grow on you. It gets under your skin and doesn’t stop getting better and better. My ISN CS02 cable in 4.4mm with the Sony WM1A (with MrWalkman’s firmware) is working miracles. I don’t know if you have heard the ISN CS02, but it takes that treble shelf the Quintet has and it polishes it up and somehow gives it a unique personality, different than I have ever heard it? Wild, as it will remain as my cable due to that quality, and the fact that it boosts the bass? Any CD quality the Quintet had was replaced with analog?
