I carries a similar rig for awhile and loved it. Sub the 800 for an HE 500 and you're there.

Are HE 500 good for portable usage? From what I read they are heavier and they are open and I guess prone to get hurt =(

Was funny how I got asked in a McDonalds how my setup compares to Beats =(

They're terrible for portable usage...but then again so are the LCD 2...and the HD 800...and any other top tier can for the most part (ED.8 sure).

They're heavy but I found them more comfortable than the LCD 2s. It's really just to have good sound with you rather than practicality.

My favorite portable that I've owned was the HD 25-13 with a proper amp. 600 Ohm cans on the go is still possible with enough power.

After having PS1000's and a few other's I find HD 800's superb for a compact lightweight headphone, hehe, but I guess that's just me.

Awesome portable rig you've there!  I bet that Beats' person you meet at McDonalds would've been blown away by the sound of this setup.

Classy rig! Is it Nano 1gen, isn't it? I still have one, nice lively sound from LO, on par with iPod 5.5gen.

My iPhone 4 into AIAIAI TMA-1's with a V-Moda Control-Talk cable and Beyerdynamic headband Pad in a Protection Racket headphone case. I just got the headband pad in the mail a few minutes ago and I got the bag yesterday. I know the bag is a bit overkill, but I really like these headphones.
