If it doesn't tick it should be okay, but I'm pretty sure they'll give you a really hard time.

It looks like it could withstand being run over by a truck.

Because so many of today's modern terrorist bombs are triggered by analog watches.

I saw somewhere around here that a guys portable setup was taken by the TSA because it looked suspicious.

This happened to HeadphoneAddict. The portable setup wasn't actually taken away from him (AFAIK), but he was taken aside and asked some probing questions about his rigs.

Does anyone else remember the bomb scare a while back? Some shipped a DIY amp to the buyers office address, and a bomb squad was called in.

I had my 2G nano and Xin Supermicro examined three times at the same airport:  Austin, TX.  I have taken that rig and others iPods and amps with mini-minis all over the country and the world (I travel frequently) and have never had anyone ask to see my rig.....except got three times in a row in Austin, TX (over a period of 18 months).   They just wanted to check it and all was fine.  I now usually disconnect the mini-mini...if I remember.  Looks less menacing, maybe....

Oh that's kind of funny... sorry HeadphoneAddict.

I also remember the bomb scare.  I think the story was one of the rotators on the Head-Fi opening page a year ago.

I liked the ksc75 much better when I pressed it against my ears.  Because of that, i think the portapros would be better.  never took the chance though.

I was never too happy with the SQ of the KSC-75 (which seem to get a lot of love on Head-Fi), but the PortaPros have always intrigued me.  Good luck and (hopefully) enjoy them.

The KSC75, at least in clip-on form, need EQ and power....never tried them with the headband mod, maybe that would help them. But I always found them to sound kinda shrill and sibilant and lacking bass. The FiiO E3 (and the E5 with bass boost on) actually helped them, if that tells you anything.

These Portapros, out of the box, no EQ, and out of the Clip+, already sound better to me than the KSC75's. Given a few days, I'll see how they sound then, and maybe then see if I want to EQ them or not. Strictly from memory, the upper mids are more audible to me than the PX100's were, which is a good thing.
