Thanks, and yes, it's basically what S J said. It also helps to fix some of the D2's issues with bass roll-off, which is the main reason that I originally purchased it. The reduction of hiss is also a plus, because it was certainly noticeable and irritating on menu screens with no music playing, and it was slightly present during playback, as well.

do you use an amp with the attenuator? i currently have tripple fi's + d2 and wasn't really sure if it would make a huge difference...

one more thing: what kind of case is that/

Sound always matters! Flame war ensues...

But yea, I get your point especially if you only got a stock stereo anyways.

That plus the noise level made me shy away from doing anything worthwhile car audio wise.

I'm intrested on how you think the (2g) iphone is working out for you.

I have the same, with a DIY dock going into my Mini^3 and i have to say, it sounds very good. especially for a phone.

most head-fi'ers go n about the 3g version, so the "old"gets lost in the discussions.

Intresting

Had to get a case because it kept getting dinged from it's hourly scheduled falls. Upgraded my C2 cable to the UE Vi cable as well. Much better sound on top of being able to leave my phone in my pocket to answer calls and play/pause tracks.

sniped on Gizmodo

those were the days... however I think the worst part with the cassette players was that the audio heads worn out so quickly. After twenty bands the first you recorded sounded like crap.
