16 GB D2 + 32 GB SDHC card --> APureSound 75 ohm impedance adapter --> Ultimate Ears Super fi. 5 pro IEMs. Sounds nice, reasonable storage capacity (wish that there were media managers around that had better support for more players and random album syncing capabilities, so that not being able to take my entire collection around all the time wouldn't suck as much). All in all, I'm happy.

Oh, and the second picture included some CDs that I had recently ripped onto my computer. Just to show off, you know.

It's used to reduce the background hissing noise that many portable players have when outputting to low sensitivity IEMs. Its just a couple of resistors stuck in a plug that attenuates the signal going from the player to the IEMs.

Thanks, and yes, it's basically what S J said. It also helps to fix some of the D2's issues with bass roll-off, which is the main reason that I originally purchased it. The reduction of hiss is also a plus, because it was certainly noticeable and irritating on menu screens with no music playing, and it was slightly present during playback, as well.

Here's my most current rig... Fuze>e5>g2a
I usually rotate stuff around though.

I tried listening to it without an amp, then I tried it with my d10, pa2v2, and e5. I find the bass on the g2a to be a bit lacking, especially when used outdoors.

The e5 is pretty much just there as a bass boost. I personally like it better like that. I know a lot of people in the g1a/g2a thread didn't complain about the bass, but compared to my other headphones I find it difficult to hear the bass guitar without a bass boost for the g2a's.

Yeah... I really dislike the EQ on the Fuze.

I didn't like the e5 when I first got it, but it's somewhat practical with my G2A's now. I personally don't like using bass boost, but oh well... Whatever sounds better to me.

Who knows. Maybe I'll learn to like the G2A's without the e5. I keep changing the combination of stuff especially within the first few weeks that I own something.

I don't think it's useful to start a new thread anymore. That practice was just because of an old vBulletin bug, where threads with a certain amount of pages totally broke the site design.

That's now fixed and the site navigation doesn't break the CSS anymore:

Code:

Code:

Also helps with people reposting pics, the first pages f a new thread always have a higher picture/random chat ratio than the thread like it is now
