Did anyone try MKII's HDMI connection? I bought an Audio gd DI a couple of weeks ago to use with the MKII's HDMI/I2S connection but it doesn't work.

Likely a different pin out than Audio-GD gear given there is no standard.

It's a different pin layout. If you can find a diagram/schematic they will wire it per that for free. I found a open source chart with everyone's layout but don't know if I would trust it. Contact ps audio.

I emailed Kingwa, and he said that the DI has same pin definition as the MKII, but he's not sure why it's not working. I may return the DI, and get OR5 instead.

And So does the Hydra Z. But when the price approaches (and with separate PS, exceeds) the used market price of the PWD2 I'd wonder whether it's worth the dough.

Back when I got the PWD2, I already had the AP2.  As long as you use Native X, and why wouldn't you, external sources don't make a difference.  Which is to say, the USB input once given the Native X treatment or toslink from the PC sound better than the AP2 without Native X.  And of course with Native X enabled they all sound the same since they all get buffered and reclocked by the PWD2.  Long story short, save your money for something else.

I heard that that Bridge II came out. I don't see any information that it would support DSD. Is it safe to assume that the Bridge II supports only files that are essentially PCM?

I saw it came out as well.

Disappointed they did not include WiFi to provide the ability to stream.

Since it is network card, is the DSD issue related to media software and the source?

Just in case anyone is still interested, I am offering a power conversion service for the PWD MkI and MkII.
 
I will convert or help convert a PWD MkI or MkII from 120V to 240V or from 240V to 120V.

I have been to but the Bridge 2 does not support WiFi but I'm still considering it because of upgrade price.

I have Perfect Wave mk2 and was debating the Direct Stream upgrade or buying the Aurilac Vega. I know this is a PS thread but I was curious if you are happy with the performance of you Direct Stream or wished for another DAC?

The one that has shown up on my radar is the Comet Exogal with the external power supply.  I have been reading and hearing good things about it.  It really is basically the same price as the DS upgrade.
