The hard part about working on the DP-X1 is taking it apart, which requires pulling the screen off (like a cellphone).
So, it looks like that part of the job is done.
If the battery has a Part Number label, you may be able to find a replacement on the Internet.
Then you'll need some appropriate glue, to reattach the screen to the case.

Already have the tools, I've repaired several phones and tablets over the years, also have the correct screen glue.

I'll look for the battery, but I'm not holding my breath! I'm probably going to have to send it in for replacement.

Thanks for all your suggestions and help guys!

Regards,
Claus

Show us a picture of both sides of the battery.

Most 'mom and pop' cell phone repair stores will have "a" battery that will fit, sometimes one with an even larger capacity. (maybe the Onkyo cellphone is the same battery?).

Don't go to a Cellphone Rescue place at a mall, those usually only fix a few brands and will panic if they see something different.

The Onkyo/PIoneer players seem like a much too small of a production market, to have a totally custom battery made for it.

I'm gonna pull the thing apart before I mail it in to find the battery and see if there's a part number on it Don't want to spend hundreds if I can just replace the battery I already have the screen glue from ebay.

I'll update you when I'm done.

Hello guys,
I bought a DP-X1A a year ago. When I see the price of the Sandisk 400 Go micros SD, I would like to replace the 64 Go cards in the player to store a little more music
Will 2 x 400 Go work ?
Thanks.

Actually I have an acquaintance that is using 2 x 1TB cards for a total of 2+TB without trouble.
Where are they getting 1TB cards?
