Regarding the acrylic fix by Whitigir, how did u guys get this glue between the gap? Tried searching this thread for more details but cant seem to find any...
Think mine need to have this fix for both plugs..sometimes i get a loud crack sound when i hit my jack accidentally.
After using for a month, this unit is kind of "fragile" interm of handling..
Vol knob protuding the above surface n u cant place it face down.
U need both hands to operate this unit, left hand for vol adjustment...

My 5 cent on the 2.5 jack:

- don't modify it.

- there are 0 case in our chat group (200+ dp-x1/100r members) that the 2.5 jack broken.

- there are 1 case that when a dp-x1 drop to the floor, it does not work again. It was send back to japan for warranty and a new one received.

I mostly agree, my jack was fine and even withstood a serious drop/cable tug, but there is still nothing wrong with those who have grey market units doing the acrylic fix just as insurance. We have had about 5 reports of issues with the jack here, with two outright failures so that does have to be acknowledged. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure they say.

It seems there must be different 'batches' of onkyo as some have greater gaps than others based in pics in this thread. Hopefully the more recent purchases have a smaller gap - I just purchased one and will take picks when it arrives in a few weeks.

However I do plan as insurance to use some suguru to fill the gap anyway. My plan is shape the suguru super thin and then push it into the gap with a toothpick.

Also, Ted from headphone lounge is modifying a cable he previously made for me to become balanced 2.5mm for $20!

Mine is from the earliest batch. I got it at the 27th of November 2015 from Yodobashi, it is a tank, some scratches and bumps but the jacks are all fine. 3.5mm is kinda loose but I don't use it anymore, only in some instances but I use the 2.5mm mostly even for my Ether, it grips like a champ.

Yes, update the app through Playstore, it's not included in the firmware update I think.

Yes that was fixed a while ago. Full folder browsing is there in the updated app.
