I have no idea how many folders. I think it's about 200 albums as I only listen to whole albums and I don't put albums into folders so you could say an album is one folder

So, all 200 of your albums are under the root/top directory?

I'm not sure I understand your question but I'll try. Each album is one folder (as defined in a Mac) and my cards just have those folders - no other sub folders or higher level folders. I hope that helps.

If it can do 128gb...it can do 200 gb....?

In theory, if it can to 32GB it can to 2TB according to the specs of the sdxc.

But yes, if it can do 128, 200 should be no problem.

I will try and reformat the cards using the dpx1... Maybe there will be a difference

I have never liked formatting cards in a player because I like to swap cards amongst different DAPs

There is following setting that you should try: Open the default music player app (green triangle symbol), select the settings menu here (three dots under the clock top right). Here select "settings". You will see options for HD Library Sync, by default it is set to Automatic. You can start sync manually, or select / deselect folders for syncing.

Also, I have uploaded the Onkyo Manual here, not sure how many downloads wetransfer will allow before closing the link in a week or so... Unfortunately I have no authorisation to attach docs here, does anyone know how to get this?

One more learning point for fellow users: When listening to high resolution files, don't use the Lock Range Adjustment's most narrow setting, otherwise you will hear irregular  interruptions / blips when listening. I went though hours of reformatting / swapping sd cards and so on, after I realised that the issue was that setting..

On the X7 thread someone reported problems with the player reading SD cards and another member advised using 'eject for windows', which deletes the hidden 'dot files' when removing the card from a Mac.

This appeared to resolve the issue so may be worth a try.

Did you have to pay any extra import fees with customs for the item?

It's still in customs so... I don't know yet. Hope the status changes today.

I was hung up with your earlier comment: "I don't put albums into folders so you could say an album is one folder"

But yes, you understood my question.

So essentially your folder structure is something like:

root/
 |- Album 1
     |- Track 1
     |- Track 2
     |- Track 3
     |- etc.
 |- Album 2
     |- Track 1
     |- Track 2
     |- Track 3
     |- etc.
 |- Album 3
     |- Track 1
     |- Track 2
     |- Track 3
     |- etc.
 |- etc.

Neutron only runs independently on CPU. I have used this player many times before on different DAPs  Including HDP R10
