I am having trouble getting my unit boot up even after on being on the charger for hours. I have tried removing the memory card still no action.

Suggestions?

What memory card does offline Tidal download ?

Thanks
If you hold the power button down for 10 seconds will it do anything?

As for tidal you select it in the settings in Tidal and you choose between internal or slot 1. I use slot one myself.

I got to boot up . It was fully charged so I took put both memory cards then it booted. I have 32 gb in slot 1 and 200 gig in slot 2 both class 10 Sans disk cards.

Can this player read 256 GB card s?

Thanks for your help.

You should just leave the cards in the DAP as much as possible. And like it was said above your cards are fine. I think this can handle up to to 2 TB cards which aren't even made yet.

I lost my DPX1 in the backseat of a Vietnam Airlines airplane between Hanoi and Bangkok yesterday. I simply forgot it and people from the company told me that cleaning people "did not find anything".
I am VERY sad it was stolen... I now realize how attached and addicted I was to it... ........

I have the serial number and can give it to the ones who are suspicious about a device sold from Thailand or Vietnam. The device is new excepted from its corners a very very little beautifully used.

I am well aware the thieves will freely have access to my two 256Gb SD-cards with Boulez, Stockhausen, Autechre etc. I am sure they will hate it if they dare to listen and that makes me smile a little.

I did all the necessary security actions from Google and others. You can indeed ask to locate or erase the device as soon as it gets connected; which I doubt. They will surely reformat the whole thing before selling it.

But I am wondering if they would also have granted access to the internal memory. I cannot remember if this version of Android asks to unlock the device before accessing the internal memory via USB.

Thank you for your help and it was a pleasure to read this thread.

O.

Hi,

How is the X1A for TIDAL offline?

I was thinking of upgrading my N5ii to the X1A because it's IEM friendly (no hissing with sensitive IEMs). Just wondering how the experience with TIDAL offline files are.

If anyone can let me know, I'd really appreciate it :)

Tidal offline works flawlessly! But, (me included) there is the common issue where the Song "skips" for a second every once in awhile.
I still think this is one of the better DAPs you can buy. Mine just works and I have had it for almost 3 years.

I ordered a Penon balanced cable for my K10. Not sounding bad on the 3.5mm out of DP-X1 but I know for a fact balanced is better (i.e Oppo PM-1 sounds spetacular balanced). Until the cable arrives, I will continue using the MojoPoly :)

Just picked up the Onkyo DP-X1. I also started a subscription to Tidal. I downloaded the Tidal app onto the Onkyo player, but I am having a real hard time searching for MQA files/albums on Tidal and knowing how to play them. Can MQA music files be streamed or do they need to be downloaded and then played using the Music app? Please educate me on how to play MQA music files on Tidal. Thanks!

If it is supported on the player and you're subscribed to the correct tier with Tidal, in the app settings you should be able to select the LTE streaming and WIFI streaming bitrates. Master is the one you will want to select for WIFI for sure, and if you have a decent data plan you could stream master quality as well.
There is also a separate setting for download quality, make sure you set that to master as well if you want to download albums or playlists.
Hope that helps!

Tidal app running on DP-X1 does not support MQA files. You can't see them or play them using the app, nor can you select Master quality in settings. Running app version 2.9.1.843.1 here, not aware of a more recent one being available.

Simply ridiculous Onkyo, this was your selling point two years ago!!!
