What 1tb ssds are attractive pricewise ? I Got a msata 1tb before it was impossible to find fairly cheap, but i cant find a good deal on a m2 sata 1tb disk.
Otherwise i would definitely be getting a new iflash sata.

On amazon.de there is a Kingspec 1TB SSD for 147€ (=164$). This is cheaper than two 512GB SDXC cards.

Back in the day I tried the msata ssd and had all sorts of issues with unmounting, battery discharge and so on.

Yes, the power consumption and reliability of M.2 SSDs have to be examined.

If I use the simulator do I use that instead of rockbox itself or do I need to install rockbox as well?

What exactly do you want to achieve? Rockbox runs on your iPod and the UiSimulator runs on your computer, so I don't understand your question.

Anyone bought the clear click wheels that’s showing up on eBay? How’s the quality? From the pictures it look like they only remove the outer raised menu, rewind, fast forward and etc buttons as I see residue form where they originally where

HI guys. Newbie here who has gone all in and bought 3 Ipods (2 x 7g and 1 x 5.5g). One of the 7g models I have left with the stock 160gb hard drive, one I have modded with an iFlash Quad and had 256gb memory installed, the third was a 30gb 5.5g which I have modded up to 160gb using the salvaged HDD from the the aforementioned modded Ipod (and installed Rockbox on dual boot so I can use my old FLAC files) . So all good and having fun trying to fill them...

Just one question - My iFlash Quad has four slots (obv) of which I have used two. Can I simply add another Micro SD card when the mood takes me or will it require a fresh install from scratch (i.e. a new sync). Many thanks in advance as I am thinking of doubling up to 512gb.

Hello dr408517,

I finally made it. Since yesterday I have my 1st fully packed 2TB ipod loaded with music. I still have about 400+ GB empty.
I used 2 of PNY 512GB and the 2 green Samsung micro 512gb.
It works like a charm, at least for now.
I have another question though. A workmate of mine has a 2nd gen ipod shuffle. Is there an extension of storage capacity possible?

Greets,
Julia

@ alissa914,

Hello Lauren,

which SDXC-Cards did you use for your 2TB iPod... or did you just use 2 1TB SD-Cards?
Did you then just connect the iPod to the Computer/Laptop and get it formatted?

Greets,
Julia
I had one single 1TB micro SD card (Sandisk).... Whenever I put it in my Quad, the board reports total size as 200GB which is odd. Even if I clear the partition table with DISKPART and CLEAN, it just shows 200GB. If I add any other cards, still 200GB.

Not sure how people are getting this to work but I imagine having 4x 1TB cards is probably why you can. It just seems that the Quad is not capable of dealing with the 1TB card and any other size card with it.... at least not on my board.

Card formats and partitions fine on Windows and Android... haven't had any data overwrites causing corruption yet to where I'd think the card capacity was faked....

It seems to just be the board's problem with the 1TB card to where I wonder if maybe I had an old revision or it's a fixable problem on the hardware side that would be addressed later... maybe I should just leave it as is and put it in my tablet instead of the iPod. Seems that 2TB is my ceiling for the moment w/ my 4x 512GB cards.

And yes, I've done this many many times with micro SD cards so I'm aware of how to put micro SD cards in my iPod and make them work. Unfortunately the iFlash Quad board I had seems to just go off the rails once the 1TB card is in... and everyone keeps telling me random basic troubleshooting steps as if I haven't tried all of those.

The steps are: CLEAN partition table on micro SD cards, plug them into iPod, hook up drive to iPod, restore iPod in iTunes. Drive shows up. That's how it has been for all micro SD cards until I got a 1TB card. And yes, the 1TB card formats by itself just fine on a PC and tablet and I've put over 200GB on the card without incident.

Hi Glendo90,
no, you can not simply add one or two more mSD Cards. You have to restore & resync everything after that.

Hi everybody.
I am trying to open a playlist with ~29 000 files on my 7th Gen Classic iPod, with Rockbox 3.15. A error message appears with "Playlist buffer full", and there are only 16384 files added to the list.
In the Rockbox settings I have allowed the maximum playlist size of 32 000.
Any ideas?
