I recently ordered two 1900 mAh batteries from a Aliexpress seller but the batteries were returned by the Chinese custom probably due to regulations on shipping batteries.

Any suggestion on buying from other sources without this issue?

Thanks

Order something else with the batteries - perhaps a new front and/or backplate. This might help if this is also listed on the invoice.

I finally decided to start modding my 80gb 5.5 properly but i have to wait a while to finish since I have to order everything from overseas.
For now I ditched the msata ssd because it was a nightmare running rockbox and bought myself a tarkan quad adapter, a single 64gb sandisk extreme pro and a "2600mAh" battery from aliexpress:

It is a tight fit and I hope the battery last the whole week instead of a day or two the original one gave me.
Fot now I'm still waiting for customs to release my 6th gen blackout shell and until then I'll have to endure that plastic black piano finish on mine :frowning2:

Is that battery really 7.8mm thick?  That might be just about the most optimum thickness if you've got a tarkan zif to SD adapter.  There's no way that would fit with a CF board and CF-SD adapter...

Good find on that battery.  If the dimensions listed are right, that battery might just be the largest accurately listed battery for iPods on the market.

The battery doesn't have a uniform thickness and varies between 7mm to 8mm. You could say the measurements are 46 x 51 x 7.5mm

If it was a centimeter or two longer, it wold definitely be the biggest battery available for a Thick Ipod with a microSD adapter

Sure thing, but it will take a week or two because the microsd i got was a dud and had to return it.

I'm sorry to hear about the dud memory card :frowning2: Where did you buy the microsd from, eBay?? What brand? I bought so many off eBay and 3 out of 4 are counterfeit or fake! The sellers don't care and are trying there the luck! :frowning2: Good luck with finding another microsd. The Sandisk and Samsung ones are being made into fakes generally, it's shocking the sellers don't get banned! Keep me updated Vicyo. All the best :)

If it performs better than the 1900 mAh battery, I'm definitely going to order one myself :) I'm using a 5.5 Gen with a iFlash Dual SD adapter, 512 GB Kingston SDA10 sd and a PNY 256 GB u3. Getting a combined 716/715 GB of storage, very stoked. My 1900 mAh battery lasts me about 40-45 hours which I'm sure is normal with Orginal firmware :)

So it's not the old 2600mah battery discussed way back in this thread? (e.g. post 4835 from 2 years ago - how do you link to specific posts here?)

That one was intended for use with a native ZIF SSD drive, but was too large to fit with any Tarkan adaptor (I think it pretty much filled the entire space behind the screen).  Is this one different?

(come to think of it, Tarkan's adaptors have gotten thinner since then...still doubt that particular battery would fit with them though...I still have one here somewhere, though it's probably died by now!).

I assume the 46 mm v 52 mm is a few mm of the protection circuitry board.

I did not factor the solder points and protection circuitry on the 46mm side (width) when I measured it because I was trying to get a rough estimate on the battery's power density at the time. So it should be about 45mm to 48mm with the insulation the way it came (45mm to 46mm after I redone the insulation).

nah, i bought on a brazilian version of ebay and there are some original cards there if you are lucky. You can return it and get the money back instantly if its a fake one. I'll try a samsung Evo+ and maybe this time it works out

If so it is the exact same one (they even use the same photo

) but I could only find it listed on aliexpress now. Maybe people did not read the description and complained afterwards.

Did you try the quad adapter? It does fill the entire space behind the screen but I didn't have any issues aside the protection circuitry insulation getting in the way of the frame when reassembling my ipod.
