It has been a while since I compare both, I had re-read my comparison note.
As I said the Sq of both are very close, but at the time I compared them my v2 was brand new.
But for SQ either is fine to me, however v2 has corrected some construction issue v1 has, and is less heavy.
So I would pick v2.

Thank you.

Did you have a preference between the V1 and V2? Interested to read your feedback as I'm considering one or the other.

I’ve owned all three and IMO v2 was better than v1. Not night and day but significant enough that I was glad I upgraded. The HEKse is night and day better than both.

i would argue that in general people considered the v2 an improvement over v1.

Everyone, I kept my HE1000V1
It is still my best headphone.

ZMF Eikon.
Not quite on the same level, but for the difference in price, well worth it. Lost a little of the very very deepest Bass, but other than that, really close (and they are closed, which I needed).

Thanks! Good cans, those Eikons.

The leather is built into part of the slider clips.
FYI There is a piece of metal that is the spring with the bumps that click into the headband adjustment slots. They can be bent tighter so the headband doesn't as adjust easily, or you can mash them down too far where they won't click in and hold your adjustment.
Not trying to make it sound too difficult, but I did end up taking mine apart twice to get the tension on that spring just right. (But I'm a perfectionist).

That's the part that broke on mine.
