Now, if you can find a (legally) free Coldplay album, that would be nice

More realistically, if you can figure out what specific genre/sub-genre Coldplay is (I'm guessing vocal pop rock?), you can find tons of similar (but much less well-known) artists on bandcamp, many of which have free albums.

Also, Noisetrade has a lot of free samplers of mostly vocal music in the form of an email newsletter, though those usually aren't full albums and they are always mp3.
