Female vocal, interesting arrangements, good songs, recorded in analog, the one live track (#2) lacks similar sound quality

She has a very popular Chesky binaural album, these wouldn't happen to be binaural would they?

If they offer it for free download, then I think it would be fine to download it for free.

But I hear you. I usually stream the album a bit first, and if think that it's probably something that I'll like, I'll buy it for $1 (which is practically free). And if it turns out that I really like it after a few listens, I may donate some more, or pay more for the artist's next album. Works well for me.

That's pretty much how I go about things. I usually stream the album for a bit and if I like it add it to my wishlist or buy right away. I typically don't just download things blindly, because I've found I usually never actually listen to the completely free downloads I have lying around on my computer. I feel that if something is not worth paying money for, then it certainly is not worth listening to and therefore just a waste of time.

I often only pay the minimum amount for name-your-price releases, because I possibly couldn't place a value on the music, and I buy so much stuff on Bandcamp I want to support as many artists as possible even if it is in a small way. For artists whose work I really like, I often go back to give a larger amount to to show my appreciation and to support what they are doing. The great thing about Bandcamp is sometimes the artists might get in touch with their longtime supporters to thank them personally – this has happened to me a couple of times. This interaction between artist and fans is what makes Bandcamp so great. Not to mention all the other things about it.

Awesome new collaborative effort. I just placed an order for the limited edition CD myself.

Man, you always know how to find the good stuff on bandcamp! I love these types of ambient soundscapes, makes you forget for a minute that you're on this blue sphere called Earth :)

The difference between Flac and 320 is very hard to hear. Most people can not tell the difference. Test it yourself if you want to confirm.
Myself, I prefer Flac, just because I prefer the files to be closest to the original format, in case I decide to burn a CD.
192 use to be the the preferred MP3 bit-rate just a few years ago, but storage is cheap, and I can hear a difference with 320, but that too is minor. 160 and below is crap, IMHO.

Not to try look impolite, but despite my small posts number I am quite experienced music listener and I do hear a clear difference. Wouldn't care to ask if otherwise. Plus, I collect and archive my music so quality files are psychologically more preferable for me. Thanks, Carlsan.

I did say most people right?
Glad you hear the difference. I also prefer to keep my files as Flac, with all the correct tags.
Cheers.

I haven't done this myself, but try this

Derailment warning!

On good mastering i can hear the difference between 320kbps mp3 (or in my case the more superior OGG Vorbis) and flac with my HE560. On some of the poorly mastered albums the compressed version can sound better. .
