Nice pictures! These are one of the better looking headphones if you like shiny things

. I was like a bug drawn to a light in the middle of the night when I bought my set.

As said in the title, my left ear bin stopped working after about 2½ years of using them. Right ear still working properly. I like my head phones, so has anyone else experienced the same problem? If so, how did you fix it? Price of fixing it? Or is it a lost cause?

Thankful for all tips!

I pulled one of my pads (something I've only ever done once before ... pain in the rear to get 'em back on) and there are small phillips-head screws in there that appear to hold in a black disk that the drivers are mounted to. Get that plate off and a recable should be a fairly straightforward project. I'm not going there unless/until mine cut out though.

pistolen; check that the connections on the driver are still sturdy. It might have come off somehow. A recable is pretty straightforward as Hanafuda said. I've done a few jobs myself.

Hanafuda; I have a picture in my signature, but I'm not sure if it's close enough for you to really see the pads. No modifications necessary though, they just fit on like the stock ES7 pads and are much more comfortable.

thx Squid. Wow, I like what you've done with those.

Anybody else have a problem with creaky microphonics coming from the swivel joints? Mine creak every time my ears twitch ... I have a huge noggin and I guess I stress the headband more than Japanese designers foresaw as possible. Any suggestion for getting rid of the creaks>? I'm thinking maybe I should try some silicone plastic lubricant.
