Not sure whether I should spend $100 or $200 in headphones.

The 2 I'm looking at right now are the ATH-A700s and the ATH-A900s. In general though how much better would $200 headphones be than $100 ones? Is the sound quality "twice" as good or does it not scale that well? The most expensive sound card I'd probably be plugging into it is an ASUS Xonar DG. A lot of the music I listen to is trebley (pop, trance, etc.) but I also want games to sound pretty good.

I'm just looking for opinions on this, really.

Most headphones that are loved around here are "more bang for buck" like Grado, Koss and others. WHen you go up in price, find headphones that also do the same. The companies that mostly do the "Bang for buck", i said MOSTLY, are Ultrasound, Shure, some Senn, a lot of IEMs, and others. I SAID MOSTLY
