Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

100% agree when it comes to listening on the go, cables are a nuisance.

For a large percentage of the time I prefer OWS for listening while preforming a project.... from washing the car to taking a walk.

My wife says OWS products "save marriages."

Sometimes I want to be closed off from the world & that is when I use TWS or full sized headphones.

But when I want to maintain a degree of situational awareness, OWS is the solution for me.

What's the set that you use most often?

What's the set that you use most often?

1) OWS
2) TWS
3) Full Size Headphones
4) Wired IEMs

That being said, from my observations :

I think the priority list can vary from person to person.

My daughters use full size headphones essentially all the time. (Oldest sometimes switches to OWS)

(Dubai Airport, transit back to Thailand from USA/Texas)

My youngest, always uses full size headphones.

The Noble Mystiques have for a long time been my favourite TWS, the V-shaped sound is addictive as I listen to a lot of bass-driven music. I learnt about the Triumph today, If anyone is able to compare the two that would be awesome.

Hey all,

I've been really loving Ronin for a few weeks and now I have my eyes on Onyx. Anyone hear tried both, and can tell me the differences?

Thanks :)

I've tried the triumph compared to the mystique they kinda lack on the bass part if your used to that umph bassy punch from the mystique. But if you're into like smooth vocal or instrumental or jazz like music I say the triumph would be the one you want. Granted now I really wish I bought a spare mystique now since I'm probably gonna be switching between the 2 tws based on the tracks I'm listening to or mood of audio I want. In many ways this is deja Vu of kazier and katana. You have the silky smooth sound for vocals, instrumentals, or maybe some poppy tunes that don't have bass heavy music to it then triumph is your goto I feel. Cause one thing I noticed about the triumph there was no fatigue it's just such a pleasure to listen to. Mystique on the hand you feel it's presence of bass and sound stage while still giving you details in areas you're used to hearing on mid high ranged wired iems.
Granted yes triumph has the details too but the details feel so smooth when you hear them yet oddly enough because of the way it goes in you just wanna close your eyes and just relax with the music. Mystique to me is more for I'd say mainstream bass heavy all around kpop hip-hop generes added with the ability to hear the technical side and details.
Triumph to me is remove cosmetics of bass heavy sound and add the silky smooth sounds of better vocals and instruments with a hint of bass while being able enjoy the music with out needing to focus on the details cause everything sounds buttery smooth. Granted the details are there if you pay attention to it but because it sounds so smooth you just forget about it and focus on enjoying the sounds your listening to.
Now as far as if I'm getting these I'm getting them for my dad first for Father's day and if doesn't like'em then I'll take them but if he does then I guess I'll be buying myself 2 as I want one for a spare so I don't make the mistake of not having a spare mystique. It's either that I just bite the bullet and get a prestige cause honestly that felt like fokus pro and mystique combined in one with a bigger sound stage. Mr. Wizard your products are just too good.

Did you already try to EQ it with the proprietary app? If it works well for you, maybe you won’t even need a second tws.

For myself, I’m really enjoying the FoKus Prestige with some very simple EQing.

Both excellent but quite different. While both have a W presentation both bass and treble are more pronounced on Onyx, making it a bit more fun style, where Ronin could be considered more neutral.

Some have described Onyx as having an L tuning instead of W and I could see that too as bass for me is too much. On first listen treble was overwhelming for me too but I took more offense on the low end of the spectrum. You won't run into this on Ronin for sure.

Onyx' mids are incredibly lifelike, lush, 3D, you name it; most likely helped by the imaging qualities that (can) come with BCD. On top of that the timbre is gorgeous.

I just have to say, I am not a fan of the stock Ronin cable at all. It's my least favorite Eletech cable by far, as it just sounds dead boring. Both the SoA and OtL sounded much better to me with the Ronin.

Yes, I'd kill for OtL on Ronin myself. On Onyx I think Chiron would outperform.

The performance of xmem technology can't be matched by eq massage work.

the speed of the xmem is the secret sauce.

I have both. Onyx comes at you with a big, well textured sub bass, bass, clean mids and treble that is prominent but has zero sharpness. It’s also emotive as you feel the music. I find the Onyx soundstage more out of your head, a bit more expansive. What’s impressive about Onyx is its slightly warm/nuetral presentation with a huge but well controlled bass, rest of the FR is clean and clear. It pairs well with most DAPS, but I find with Tube DAPS SP3000T and Cayin N30 LE the bass bleeds into the mid range. Ronin remains one of my all time favorites with its smooth delivery and decent bass. But lately I’ve been listening to Onxy a lot, very addictive. I added code 24 cable to onyx and does extend the soundstage even further
