Are there any Sultan vs Sultan Damascus impressions posted here on Head-Fi or perhaps elsewhere? My decision window is slowly closing and since I have heard the Damascus version... Tnx!

Hello guys!
I have finally completed my Kublai Khan review featuring comparison with few different cables and Oriolus Traillii.

This is truly helpful, I'm interested in the DXII, mostly because of its design. It looks gorgeous. Please share more about DXII with the stock cable.
Just to follow up (long after the fact)—

Briefly tested stock 3.5 cable on DX II last night. It’s, of course, a high quality cable in feel and material.

To me, stock cable strikes a rather safe middle path on dx2. I didn’t hear any special extensions in bass or treble. On the whole it sounded balanced but uninspired, not helped by fact it’s 3.5.

The four other, mid-fi 4.4 PW cables I’ve used on dx2 definitely accentuate sound profile, variations of which hinging on bass presence and texture, but revealing more of what dx2 is capable.

Regardless, Dx2 is bass predominant in character. Given it’s also DD, I need to give it more play time, too.

Black Friday ad went live a few hours ago on Noble's facebook feed. Up to 50% off, but not a lot of details on what's on sale yet. I'm staying tuned

In some respects
We are really discussing vibration, as that is what sound is.

We are not talking about memory, ram, speed etc etc

With that in mind, there is no reason to think something built 5 years ago is inherently obsolete

But what really sets the Ragnar & the Encore apart is the components used & the implementation of those components. Also, the technology/equipment used to build the Ragnar, we did not have 5 years ago.

And yes, the Encore, Katana, K10U, Sultan & Ragnar are built to last.

In theory, any one of those products could be 100% overhauled & finished with cerakote (for a fee ofcourse)

@FullCircle I never had and heard a Noble but i'm always curios to try Katana and/or Encore, can you tell me the main differences in tuning?
I'd use N6ii Ti (R01) and RU6, thanks for your help :)

I certainly welcome others to chime in, but between the 2 the Katana probably is the better candidate for acoustic type genre. That said the bass does reach surprisingly low when it does fire off.

The Encore a bit more "fun type tuning."

Aluminum housing wise, the katana is significantly smaller than the encore.

I love mids and and Katana would be suited for vocals and instruments more than Encore from what i read, looks like Encore has more bass and highs, instead of katana is smother on highs and mids are "the star of the show"
This is what i understood reading reviews and comparisons...

Perhaps ask Santa Claus to do his part and combine the benefits of both models in the Sultan? Can also be found at ridiculous prices used. But with Black Friday on your doorstep...
