Yeah, happened to me with a few balanced cables of decent quality. I think it has something to do with the way iBasso implemented the balance input plus the wiring within the Khans. The thicker the cable the worse it is. I switched out to the fairly thin Noble Audio balanced and had no problems.
I do think you can damage the amp on the iBasso if you leave it plugged in that way, btw. I sent in my Amp 8 for repair.
FYI, I also had the same problem with the DX120 balanced, but it plays fine with the Noble audio thin cable.
Savant 2 = more bass than the Savannah
All our tests thus far show that the Khan will work seamlessly with the cables provided by Noble (black standard or the heavier black silver)
I also have a Dx200 and use both cables without issue directly with the DX200
What we have found is that if one attempts to use an Apple + dongle, artifact can occur, and the standard black Noble cable will resolve the issue.
Funny ive never broke a pin before lol. My dad once sat on my zeus and nothing happend (well apart from the pins bending but i jus straightened them out and done good as new.I confess, I broke pins before, because i placed my iems in my pocket!
For freak sakes i swear. Everytime i visit this thread a little part of me regrets going for the empire ears zeus. Makes me want to get a wizard ed. Iem instead lol. Those fp just looks so unreal! Ive only held 2 wizard ed iems before (a sage and a katana) one was a bit of a let down (sage) but boy the katana was stunning! It looked like a dragon egg from legends!
