There was some vague mention of a parallel flagship to the Khan so maybe it is that?

Yeah, happened to me with a few balanced cables of decent quality. I think it has something to do with the way iBasso implemented the balance input plus the wiring within the Khans. The thicker the cable the worse it is. I switched out to the fairly thin Noble Audio balanced and had no problems.
I do think you can damage the amp on the iBasso if you leave it plugged in that way, btw. I sent in my Amp 8 for repair.
FYI, I also had the same problem with the DX120 balanced, but it plays fine with the Noble audio thin cable.

Thanks for the feedback. I stopped running it with the amp8 after 2 tries with no volume and leave it now to run with the Solaris from Campfire instead. Good to know that it may cause damage if you keep it up....good thing iBasso's support with Paul is good. Strange issue indeed.

Savant 2 = more bass than the Savannah

All our tests thus far show that the Khan will work seamlessly with the cables provided by Noble (black standard or the heavier black silver)

I also have a Dx200 and use both cables without issue directly with the DX200

What we have found is that if one attempts to use an Apple + dongle, artifact can occur, and the standard black Noble cable will resolve the issue.

Thanks John, I will say the Khans with the Leonidas II have no issues with my SP1000m or SP1000 so I'll just leave it as is for now. I've never seen cables cause issues for IEMs though switching with different players in the past, when you guys eventually isolate the results in your findings, I'm sure me amongst others would be interested to know what's causing this phenomenon. Appreciate you looking into this.

Does anyone have any pictures of the nozzle part of the Khan - and any experience with tip rolling with it? If I decide to get it once it's released, I'll probably want to consider custom tips for them...
