The Kahn is now on the website. Not sure how the 20% black Friday discount is applied. I went through the checkout process, but no discount showed.

The website now shows the Kahn pricing with the 20% discount applied. I finally got them pre-ordered. Now I can go to bed, knowing that sometime in March 2019, Christmas will make a late (or would it be early) appearance at my house. Just hope my credit card doesn't get charged until they ship in 4 or 5 months.

We usually try to set the goals very realistically and add a buffer as we dont want to upset our customers.

That said, I do hope we can beat the proposed dates.

I just noticed in the bigger photos on the website that the Khan have holes in the bottom, are these vented? If so how much sound is leaked in either direction/what is the isolation rating?

Sound leakage isolation etc I found this to be essentially the same as a ba ciem

The vent that you see actually has a passive filter below it (damper) so air is not exactly free flowing.

How does the khan compare to the katana?

From the website it says it’s of k10 and encore lineage. I want to know if it’s better than the katana before purchasing

Piezo? Would this be the same as electro static tweeters. Pardon my ignorance but I recently tried Jomo’s new Trinity and it was really wonderful. The Khan has a similar configuration and if is anything like the encore and katana. This might just be my next iem at a friendlier price point.

Just my opinion....

The Khan has a quality that the K10, the Encore and the Katana do not.

That is.... the sound quality is addictive. Never have I had the urge, or need for an "audio fix" like I have for the Khan.

The Katana, is a great iem, u listen to it and it will deliver a "WoW effect" but the Khan delivers a "eureka" moment.

I love the Katana, I cherish the Khan

Personally can't hold out until March 2019, but I'm curious as to what a sound signature between Katana and Encore would entail?

I find my universal Katana to have a well-balanced signature with a very clean bass (could do with more sub-bass tho), incredibly clear and slightly forward vocals (it's borderline but not quite sibilant, which imo is perfect), and tamed but resolving highs. However, I'm finding the Katana "sterile" (not necessarily a bad thing) next to offerings such as the U12t and Andromeda.
Last I heard the Encore, it felt even leaner than the Katana, with less inspiring mids and harshness in the treble. Which is why I went with the Katana in the first place.

All this leaves me a bit lost as to what the Khan might sound like.

Piezo is a ceramic tweeter probably same as in Hyla CE5. Trinity has dual Sonion electrostat tweeters.

That sounds great then! Is there any chance of water getting in there and damaging them if you are out in the rain? Not a problem with the sealed CIEMs.
