The story of Filmore Green
As a kid growing up, my father owned some rental properties, pretty much every weekend was spent with him working on those homes, and summers too.
Being practical, we never wasted anything, including paint left over from painting projects done over the years. The property on Filmore Street needed to be painted, so my dad pulled out all the old cans of paint, and began mixing all the left over paint he could find. The funny thing was, once all the paint was mixed, the resulting color was dark green. So we painted the house green, and after that, the house became a land mark, as it was the only green house in town.
20 years latter, when I was puttering around building ciems in Thailand, trying, to figure out how to build them etc etc... Like my father, I would not waste any left over resin...
So one day when I mixed all the resin together to build a set of ciems, the color turned out to be green as well, and with my father in mind, the color was called "Filmore Green."
