Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

A tinnitus gathering.

I have a mild case in my right ear, just woke up in the middle of the night with an unpleasant ringing in my ear. 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 2 years it never went away. This was long before I even started using IEM or headphone.

Music doesn't seem to bother it. Like I said, it's usually fairly subtle. Some days it has a good old nag at me. The mind is quite powerful at adapting.

I did exactly this with the stock cable and my moon audio black dragon. When. I first got my k10s I thought there was an issue with the cable because sound would cut out of the right ear piece when I touched the connector. Left was fine. Got a new cable overnighted from Brannan and same problem! That's when I realized the right earpiece socket was looser and so the cable 2pin connector was a bit loose in it, so touching it would disconnect it. Got a pair of needle nose pliers and spread the pins ever so doughty and haven't had any problems since.

Ironically, I went through this exact same scenario. I thought it was a cable issue, which Brannan promptly sent a cable to me. After its arrival I had a trip to China for the past month. During the trip I quickly realized it didn't resolve the issue and I didn't get to enjoy K10's for the 22 hour flight there and back.... was a primary reason for buying them so instead I got the option to listen to my music cut out repetitively, use them as ear plugs or listen to the baby cry for 4 hours.. I chose the earplug route.. To say I was upset would be an understatement...

Once I got home I tried the original stock cable and a separate cable from a different company. The issue was repetitive in my right K10. The cables are tight, however its to the point of any head movement the IEM completely cuts out. I have to keep my head perfectly level and not tilt it to keep the music going. All of my pins are perfectly straight and I'm not about to bend pins to make a defective IEM work.

First time I have heard about this.... But then again I don't Usually get e mails... Folks pm me mostly.

I assume these are k10 ciem, if u feel u have done ur best on the socket/trouble shooting, then I'd say they need to be sent to the California office and they will be forwarded out to the lab. I agree, this doesn't sound like a cable issue, or a loose socket either.

Big apologies for the inconvenience of a torturous flight, it's a bummer when plans don't work out.

It's very helpful to hear of other people's experiences with Tinnitus and IEM's. I started a thread here http://www.head-fi.org/t/758167/tinnitus/30#post_11416384
Maybe post on there rather than hijack this thread. Thanks for everyone's tolerance.

Well...beautiful work Noble once again.

Thinking out loud here...  I get the feeling that people want a medical consult, clinical psych advice and a pat on the back when buying custom IEMs.  That is just bat **** crazy.

I don't suppose I made many friends with this post but at least it is honest.

Cheers!

This is a forum. Not Noble customer service. (Which happens to be very good!)
