Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

You bit the bullet Mike? I would have loved to get a K10 but I'm still a poor college student who doesn't get financial aid or I would be spending it on some prestiges. Let me know how they come out.

Yep, bit the bullet and also the bite block! Was a good deal to get the impressions done for free at the show, and also to have Brannan himself do them so he could double-check to make sure they were what they needed. Was a good thing also as he had to shoot my right ear twice. Cheers -

I got my ears shot by Brannan as well over the weekend, and I think he puts it in deeper then the audiologist did at UE haha. However I liked that he did one ear at a time so it didnt feel like I was going deaf.

I'm loving all these K10 photos, I might be able to save up for a pair one day but in the meantime I pushed the button on a pair of Universal Noble 3 yesterday. Brannan answered my questions quickly and I have already had notification that they have shipped. Can't wait to try them. Thanks Noble.

Got wood?

These Wizard-designed Kaiser 10 feature some beautiful Maple sourced from the Northeastern United States which has been slightly charred around the edges.

The effect? Wood that is being consumed by a fire burning from the inside out. Oh yes.

On that bombshell, here's to the weekend! We will see you on the other side.

Is this the first time you used wood outside of the region where John is? We spoke in the past about using Birdseye Maple, but he told me something about being limited on the kids of wood he could obtain, if my memory serves me correctly.

No, definitely not the first. Some woods are more difficult to obtain than others and when you do find it, you can't touch it because it's too expensive. But, for the most part, we can get what we want.

Brannan - Is this a Prestige or a Wizard design? Looks awesome!

I get the impression the Prestige line are the ones made of solid wood.

Nahh, the Prestige CAN be made out of solid wood....   but the above photo is a MIXED wood ("Wizard Wood") which is a mix of acrylic and wood fused together.  Essentially a piece of "punky" wood, or knotted up wood, is placed it in a container coupled with acrylic and pressure is applied. The acrylic is injected into the pores of the wood, and fusses to the wood, filling up gaps and crevices etc etc.  It actually converts a block of wood, that has no value due to the fact it has deteriorated over time and exposure, into a beautiful block of wood.

Basically anything that is solid, and is softer than steel we can build into a CIEM.

So a solid block of acrylic, wood, carbon glass or a mixture of those elements we can make a Prestige with.

No, my K10 (serial number 11) has Maple in it (and is beautifully fantastic). So it has been used before, and early on, to boot. The maple is simply beautiful!

Yes we ship woods in from the USA from time to time, that being said, most of the woods are from Asia.
