Hi gang,

I know @warrenpchi has raved about Spartacus for a while - @Andrew DiMarcangelo sent me one of Bloom's units in preparation for a SoCal meet on Aug 24.

I was immediately impressed when I spent 5 minutes with these guys in NYC, and they've been in my back pocket of highly underrated IEMs.

My suspicions with these were not taken off, but they were confirmed in the past week—musical, W-shaped fun with an excellent implementation of the two BCD drivers. With this kind of implementation, no DD is needed.

I loved the MEST MK2 and figured this would be a solid upgrade - it is! It is a little warmer than the MEST, but not badly. The soundstage is wider than the MEST vs how deep the MK 2 is. Very atmospheric.

Notably great with classical and EDM.

Would you say that the spartacus is also a good rounder? I listen to metal and rock music and wondering if this could also handle these genres effectively :)

Thank you!!

Yes, it is. If you're preference, like mine, generally leans toward a warmer tonality, go for it!

Thank you! Really seriously considering it!

Have you tried comparing the Spartacus to technical iems such as u12t or Mest MKIII? If so, did you find it is a bit lacking in technicalities because of its tuning?

I only have the MEST MKII so can't exactly comment.

However, from my experience, the best answer I can provide is no—for this type of tuning, you don't necessarily need the maximum imaging and detail squeezed out. I don't find myself wanting more.

With this type of IEM, you want it to disappear in your ear and forget about it. It does what it does - and that's all we ask of it.

I am very happy my once-upon-a-time first client is rocking the game and found a good stride. In the house sound of recent releases, this and the Viking stand out to me. Nicely done, FullCircle! *** Can't wait to try Chronicle at NYC!

Hi, sorry I don't not get the ***reference. I'll be in the City tomorrow for a while, is there a place to see and listen to the Chronicle?

Completely agree a lot of popular metal and rock albums are about power, timing and just rocking out to the energy. Overly hot mastering is not uncommon too. In live albums there is dubbing and mixing going on. I do not approach the genre like the classical or jazz albums in the collection.

A milestone

It has been a long journey.
I realize this is just a begining, and there is a lot more work ahead... But this new chapter is one that I've had my sights on for around 8 years.

The stars finally lined up. A big thanks to all those that helped make this happen.

Yup, despite the slightly warmer tilt. I haven't found a song that I didn't enjoy on it honestly.

I don't think it's lacking in detail either, I throw orchestral stuff on it (even live) and it handles them well (around the level of the Gaea and Crimson at least). Particularly impressed with how it handled one of my test tracks: the Gothic Neclord orchestral version by JAGMO from their Suikoden 25th anniversary concert (). It effortlessly picks up not only the positioning of the pipe organ (up top), but also subtleties in the orchestra (piano player tapping on the pedal).

Thank you so much! This is really helpful.

How do you find the vocals on spartacus?
